Tutorial Admit a Transient Patient You must admit a patient as a transient when the admission is temporary less than 30 days or no more than 13 treatments.
Tutorial Admit a Transient Patient (CONT.) Admitting a patient as a transient allows the patient to remain admitted to his/her home facility in CROWNWeb (without being discharged), while temporarily visiting your facility.

Tutorial Clinical Data for Transient Patients If a transient patient does not have any labs drawn during their visit, the facility must still complete the minimum required fields in HD and Vascular Access or PD clinical (those with a red asterisk [*] or use the NA checkbox to designate that labs were not drawn.
Tutorial Finding Vascular Access Data for a Transient Patient Patient vascular access data carries over for a Home facility from month-to-month, but not when a patient is a transient at another facility. The transient facility can find vascular access data for a transient patient using the following steps: 1. From the patient s View Patient Attributes screen, click on the Clinical Data Summary link in the gray sub-menu. 2. Click on a previous Clinical Month s link to view that month s clinical lab data for the patient. 3. Under Vascular Access, you can view and note the Date Access Type Changed, AV Fistula Usable Date and/or Fistula Creation Date fields, and enter that data in the transient patient s Vascular Access fields. 4. Complete any of the other required fields in Vascular Access.

Tutorial Troubleshooting Commonly experienced problems, recognized solutions, and other key information: You must have scope over a facility before you can admit a transient to that facility. Only a Facility Editor or Network Patient Editor can admit a transient patient to a facility. If an out-of-scope near match is found during the admission process, your Network Patient Editor will help you admit the patient.

Enter the Transient Reason and patient s transient information. Click Next. 5. Enter treatment information. Click Next. 6. Confirm the Patient Attributes and then click Submit.

Click Admit/Discharge Summary. 5. Click on the date link in the Admit Date column. 6. Click on Edit Admit/Discharge. 7. Enter the Date of Discharge, Discharge Reason (Transfer), and Transfer Discharge Subcategory (Dialysis Facility). 8. Click Submit.
