Who is? ateast was established in April 1997 and is a consortium of leading schools in the Eastern Region of Melbourne offering School based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), who work together to increase the range of options for their senior students. There are now TEN secondary schools and one catholic school in our program These schools have a like minded desire amongst the leadership and staff of the schools to meet the diverse needs of each school s student cohort.
Goals The consortium schools are united in their desire to: Recognise and respond to diverse student needs. Be a leader in the delivery of individual pathways for students. Collaborate in the development and delivery of student programs. Provide professional development and support for teachers. Build the skills of the education workforce and enhance the teaching-learning relationship. Promote and support continuous improvement in the consortium schools.

ROLE OF THE TEAM To provide ongoing support to trainees and apprentices through liaising with their school, TAFE college and employer Organise training at TAFE and assist with employer recruitment Visit trainees and apprentices on a regular basis at school, TAFE and work Proud of our Holistic Approach

Every year ateast students have won Industry Based Awards.
QUICK FACTS This is a Full Time Program The trainee/apprentice pays $350.00(in 2017) to ateast for the pastoral care and administration of the program, plus school levies TAFE fee is $350.00 - $1250.00 plus material fee. Less for Health Care Card Parents must attend interview and official sign up with their student
QUICK FACTS Not an easy option School, TAFE and Work Students must meet all school, training and employment obligations Employment may commence in Term 4 Meet the obligations as outlined on the training contract and ateast contract Attend OHS and Orientation program in October. Pay fees to ateast and TAFE.
