RESULTS Happy New Year! Note from the Meet Director: I want to thank all our athletes, parents, friends, and family for an awesome Christmas Classic! I appreciate your patience as we worked through the significant difficulty of a non-functioning printer. I want to thank Patrick Warkins and Valerie Gassman, coaches at Newman High School, for use of their FAT system and all their hard work. Also, to our volunteers who worked the various field events. A special thanks to Greg Theologes, athlete and Official, who managed the Throws, Mike Sullivan and Dick Cox, our Starter and Chief Officials, and my husband Ken Lauff who built the shot put ring, hauled equipment, and manned the timing clock. Without Ken, I could not put on any meet. A shout-out goes to Coach Nicole from Illinois Rush Track Club for assisting us in connecting a secondary printer so we could finally produce heat sheets and results. I know what to do to improve things, and I will clarify a few points on next year s flyers to help with registration and payment. That being said, I do need to stress that this year s results took 17 hours over 3 days to review athlete by athlete, event by event, video by video due to athlete error as these athletes did not register for these events, yet jumped into heats when they noticed other athletes did not show. Results were erroneous at first due to this. However, I gladly spent this time for you, to make sure things are correct. I know I am not perfect! I did the best I could, and will fix this for next year. J If you think you may have a record, you must contact me. There is simply no way I know every age group, every event record. In the future, that must be declared to the Meet Director and Officials prior to, or when you arrive at the meet, as we need to have three certified Officials present. I am aware of three pending records, and all paperwork will be submitted. Again, thank you, and I hope to see you next year for the 3 rd annual Christmas Classic on Saturday, December 27 th, 2014 Sincerely, Barb Lauff Director of Orchestras, Sterling, IL USATF IL Masters Chair
