Federal Training Conference for Employers on the 2015 Changes to Affordable Care Act to be held in Des Moines. Conference registration is open and free to the public. DES MOINES, IA, October 1, 2014 The U.S. Department of Labor, The U.S. Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Kansas City Regional Office will be presenting at a federal training conference for employers on October 29, 2014 in Des Moines. The event will be free for the public, but businesses should register their employees prior to the event. The training conference will feature training and presentations from the federal agencies charged with implementing the Affordable Care Act. Federal officials will present key information and answer questions about the employer shared responsibility payment, the new employer reporting requirements, as well as the small business tax credit, and SHOP. The conference will emphasize important information relevant to employers (including not-for-profit entities and government agencies), attorneys, CPAs and controllers, HR professionals, employee benefits administrators, and union representatives, among others. Seating is limited; attendees should register online at the following registration website: http://insuranceca.iowa.gov/. Continuing education credits for insurance agents, brokers, Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators, social workers, human resource professionals, accountants, and attorneys are pending. A conference agenda can be found along with registration on the Iowa Insurance Division s Consumer Advocate website. The U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services offer this unique and valuable opportunity to all Iowans. The Friends of the Drake Public Library 2014 Raffle is underway The drawing for the prizes will be held on Tuesday November 4, 2014. Our featured item is a 90x90 cross-stitched quilt suitable for most queen or king sized beds. In addition to the quilt we have another 26 prizes that have been donated by local merchants and friends. Tickets are $1 each or 6/$5 and you may purchase them at the library or send your check to the: Friends of the Drake Public Library, 115 Drake Ave, Centerville, IA 52544. Please include your phone number and address labels for each entry. All proceeds will be used to support the Drake Public Library and to promote literacy.
