The Land and Water Management Division (LWMD) will hold a public hearing at the Holiday Inn Lansing West Conference 5

Center, 7501 West Saginaw Highway, Lansing, Michigan. The purpose of the hearing is to secure the views of interested persons concerning the proposal to issue a general permit to authorize the construction and maintenance of temporary access walkways across beach swales with standing water on exposed Great Lakes bottomlands. The permit would be issued under Part 303, Wetlands Protection, and Part 325, Great Lakes Submerged Lands, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended. The draft general permit may be reviewed in the LWMD s main office at 116 West Allegan Street, Lansing, Michigan, during normal office hours; or the draft permit language may be viewed at LWMD s web site, www.deq.state.mi.us/lwm, under "Newer Items of Interest."
