1 Florida State University Libraries Snapshot 2012-2013 The Florida State University Libraries provide resources and services essential to learning, teaching, research, and service. The Libraries collection includes over three million volumes, with a website offering access to more than 887 databases, 86,500 e-journals, and over a million e-books. For materials not held at FSU, fast, efficient interlibrary loan services are available, complemented by the UBorrow system, which provides unmediated, streamlined access to over 15 million books from all 11 state university libraries in Florida. The Library Express Delivery Service offers speedy delivery of books to faculty and teaching assistants and among the campus libraries. It delivered over 16 thousand books and articles in 2013. With over a million visitors each year, Strozier Library is FSU s largest and busiest library. It is open 134 hours each week, providing around-the-clock service Monday through Friday. Seven other on-campus libraries provide specialized collections and services: the Paul A. M. Dirac Science Library, Mildred and Claude Pepper Library, Warren D. Allen Music Library, Harold Goldstein Information Studies Library, College of Law Legal Research Center, College of Medicine Maguire Medical Library, and the College of Engineering Library. The libraries are serviced by three off-site storage facilities and a technical services facility, all in Tallahassee. FSU s library system also includes libraries at the FSU Panama City Campus and at study centers in London, Florence, and the Republic of Panama, and an art history library at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota. 2009-2010 2010-2011 2011-2012 2012-2013 Library Collections Print Volumes in Libraries 2,885,954 2,965,660 2,965,813 3,235,243 E-books 878,189 1,156,915 1,086,070 1,128,765 Databases 746 771 778 887 Electronic Journals 53,691 72,825 80,758 86,570 General Information Services Research Consultations 116,552 219,881 154,270 136,219 Classes Taught 966 1,168 1,105 1,096 Note: Includes figures for all University libraries.
