Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) APT is an intergovernmental organization for the development of telecommunication and ICT services in the Asia-Pacific region. APT was established in 1979 by the joint initiatives of ESCAP and ITU. Currently, memberships of APT are: 38 Members (States) 4 Associate Members (Territory) 135 Affiliate Members (enterprise, agency, institute, organization, academia, etc. active in ICT and telecommunication area in the region) 2

Objective: APT ICT Pilot Projects for Rural Areas To narrow down digital divide in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting and establishing pilot projects to ensure the access to ICT in rural areas and to facilitate development of ICT infrastructures/services in the region 11

Main feature of the ICT Pilot Projects for Rural Areas Maximum amount of APT support available for one project is USD 200,000. Appropriate amount of the budget for the project will be determined based on careful examination of the proposal prior to project implementation. The project is to be completed within 11 months Higher priority will be given to the project with financial support from the proposing APT Member 12
