2018 Terry J. Bryant Awards The Georgia Health Care Association and Georgia Center for Assisted Living invites you to submit nominations for one or more of the 2017 Terry J. Bryant Awards. Please carefully review each award category and description below and follow the instructions for submitting your nomination. About Terry J. Bryant The Terry J. Bryant Media Awards were established in memory of Terry Bryant, a beloved GHCA member, who was tragically killed in a plane crash on April 21, 1978. During his lifetime, Terry represented the West Central Council on the GHCA Board of Directors, and served the Public Relations Committee for five years. He was instrumental in developing the Ms. Georgia Nursing Home Pageant, now the Ms. Georgia Health Care Association Pageant, one of GHCA s most special events still to this day, and vigorously promoted the importance of community relations for Georgia s nursing homes. As such, the GHCA Board of Directors established the Terry J. Bryant Media Awards in 1978 to recognize those members who demonstrate outstanding community relations through special programs, traditional and digital media outreach, social media, and volunteerism. To this day, Terry s dedication to community relations and positive promotion of long term care in the state of Georgia lives on through the great work of GHCA members. GHCA continues to honors him by presenting the awards each year during the Georgia Society of Nursing Home Activity Directors Annual Meeting.
