The Florida Council will be awarding Best Prac ces in the following Project Based categories: Econ 101 Lessons that introduce basic economic principles and concepts. Personal Financial Literacy Examples may include innova ve personal financial literacy, budge ng and career based projects. Micro Socie es/virtual Economies Programs that introduce or reinforce basic business skills, through innova ve means. Skills include but are not limited to budge ng, purchasing, inventory tracking, profit loss management, pricing, opportunity costs, and scarcity. Examples may include classroom economies, school stores, school businesses and business clubs. Entrepreneurship for the 21st Century Examples may include programs and units that help students launch small businesses, introduce new entrepreneurial opportuni es in the global economy, lessons may also address leveraging new technologies to help launch a successful start up, student wri en computer programs for a cost/benefit analysis, computer based simula ons, etc... Out of the Box Any unit or curriculum that crea vely introduces economic concepts in non tradi onal ways or in subject areas other than Social Studies or Math. Field trips, internships or career based ac vi es are acceptable. General Guidelines: Copies of the applica on form are acceptable. The en re applica on process may be completed online including uploads of suppor ng documenta on at www.fcee.org. Hardcopy applica ons may also be submi ed but must include a copy of applica on and suppor ng materials. An individual educator may submit projects for mul ple categories. PROJECTS MUST BE TAUGHT IN CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR. As always, we encourage the use of computer based simula ons, video games, using and/or crea ng websites, and web quests as a component of any project. Suppor ng documenta on is a cri cal component in the judging process and can be the determining factor between a winning and non winning applica on. We suggest submi ng copies of lesson plans and samples of student work/handouts, etc You may submit suppor ng documenta on in any of the following mul media formats; CD Rom, DVD, web page, streaming video, PowerPoint, JPEGs, PDFs, and/or Word documents.
