Dear Advisors & Students, The George Washington University Executive Board would like to invite you to the first annual Regional Competition. Each of you comes from a different background but we all have the same reason to attend this conference; to get to nationals/international and win! We know you will put in the hard work in order to ensure success in your event, and on this day you will see your hard work pay off. We are an international organization made up of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs; we pride ourselves on innovation, integrity and teamwork. The George Washington University chapter will be hosting the Collegiate DECA Regional Conference on February 25, 2012! Registration will begin promptly at 10:30 AM until 11:00AM. Regional Competition Collegiate DECA I Competitive Event Info Collegiate DECA programs and competitions are clustered around six (6) academic areas: 1. Business Management & Administration 2. Communications & Technology 3. Entrepreneurship 4. Finance & Accounting 5. Hospitality & Tourism 6. Marketing & Sales Competitive Events allow students to put their experience, skills and knowledge to the test while representing their college/university. Collegiate DECA are eligible to compete in one of over 20 different competitions. Collegiate DECA competitive events recognize student achievement, provide opportunities for traveling to conferences and networking with peers. The Collegiate DECA competitive events program is recognized for helping prepare students for their professional careers in all events students are judged by business and industry professionals. General Rules & Regulations 1. All participants must be members of the local Collegiate DECA chapter with the current year's membership dues paid. 2. All participants and entries in a specific project or competitive activity must have been authorized for entry by their chapter advisor. 3. First, second, and third place awards may be given for each event. (optional) 4. A participant may be allowed to enter only one of the competitive events during the on campus competition. (NOTE: You may want to allow them to enter more than one event.) Briefing Sessions 1. Participants are responsible for providing all audiovisual equipment needed for their presentation. For example: tape recorders, projectors, screen, easels, computers, etc. 2. Non-graphing calculators will be allowed during the business simulations events competition. Cellular phones with calculator applications will NOT be allowed. 3. There will be no power outlets or extension cords available during competition.
