THE KENAN STADIUM EXPERIENCE Kenan Stadium has been the home of the Tar Heels since 1927. Kenan Stadium is the best place in America to play college football. The first day I was hired, I just had goose bumps every time I looked down at that field from my office. It s a special place to play. It will be a special place to coach. Head Coach John Bunting olina has played host to a number of nationally and regionally televised contests at eautiful Kenan Stadium, including the 1999 Florida State contest, when NFLgreat Lynn Swann graced the Tar Heel sidelines.

THE FRANK H. KENAN FOOTBALL CENTER We are in an era when football facilities represent how committed a program is to being one of the best. At North Carolina, I expected the Smith Center to be one of the best for basketball and it is. What surprised me was how outstanding the new football facility is. They certainly have a top-notch facility. When I walked away from Chapel Hill, I was totally impressed. THE FRANK H. KENAN FOOTBALL CENTER A four-year, $50-million renovation of Kenan Stadium was completed in 1998, with the addition of the Frank H. Kenan Football Center and the John W. Pope Stadium Box. The state-of-the-art, 78,000-square foot football center houses the Carolina coaches offices, lockerrooms, weight room, training room, equipment room, players lounge, computer labs, study areas, a 100-seat auditorium, theater and the Hall of Honor, a multimedia history of Tar Heel football.

I want this team to earn respect for the way it plays. It s a fun sport, but you can t have any fun if you re not playing hard. John Bunting Carolina s coaching staff is one of the best in the nation. Combining 264 years of experience, the Tar Heel staff brings a diverse knowledge of the game from several schools, professional leagues and conferences around the country. In addition to its vast collegiate experience, the Tar Heel players benefit from the 19 years of NFL experience from head coach John Bunting. A winner at every stop in his coaching career, Bunting was an NFL assistant coach for Kansas City, St. Louis and New Orleans. He was the co-defensive coordinator for the Super Bowl champion Rams in 1999. North Carolina is the only ACC school to have at least one player selected in every NFL Draft since 1971. Of the 35 former Tar Heels on NFL rosters as of July 1, 2001, 71 percent have earned their college degrees. Carolina always has talented athletes with good ability and good attitudes. McCauley rushed for 3,172 yards and 29 touchdowns from 1968-70, including a then-record 1,720 yards as a senior.
