JOIN US FOR CM S DEDICATION & GROUNDBREAKING Dear Alumni and Friends, After more than 10 years of planning and design and over two years of construction, we hope all of you will join us for one of the biggest celebrations in the history of the Construction Management Department. This summer, the department s faculty, staff and students are moving into our new facility the Construction Innovations Center. This important milestone will be celebrated on October 4 in a special Dedication and Open House for this new structure. Even before the dust settles on this building dedicated to contemporary education in Construction Management, we will start this fall on construction of the next phase of this project, the Simpson Strong-Tie Materials Demonstration Lab. The commencement of this project also will be celebrated on October 4 with a special Groundbreaking event immediately following the Dedication. The lab will complete this unique complex of buildings programmed from the beginning to provide over 35,000 square feet of new space for our department. This Dedication and Groundbreaking will be the centerpiece of a weekend full of activities designed for you to meet former classmates and other CM colleagues from the construction industry throughout the Western United States. Join us for an Alumni and Friends Luncheon, tours of the new building conducted by current students, an exciting Cal Poly football game under the lights against South Dakota, and a student-run Golf Tournament. It will be a great time of year to visit the Central Coast and reconnect with the CM Department and the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. We can t wait to see you and your family here. In this invitation you ll find a schedule of exciting events, information regarding lodging, and a registration form. To join us for this wonderful weekend, please complete the enclosed reservation form and return it to the Construction Management Department by September 15.
