The reality is most organizations struggle with realizing true teamwork. This is often due to a misunderstanding of the true nature of teams and an inability to create, coach and commit to team ideals. In this session, you will explore through interaction, discussion and application what it looks like to create, coach and commit to a true team. You ll have an opportunity to examine the current teaming situation in your organization as well as create a roadmap for a teaming culture. You ll leave with a clear understanding of team and the tools to begin reconsidering and reconstructing the teams you currently have. 5:55 p.m. Election of Group Representative to NDBA Board of Directors Door Prizes and Golf Prizes 6:00 p.m. Networking Reception 6:30 p.m. Dinner 7:05 p.m. Comments by NDBA Chairman Vaune Cripe, American Bank Center, Dickinson 7:10 p.m. Reigniting Organizational Passion Juli Lynch, Turning Point Consulting, Cable WI The silence seems louder than the helicopter that just evacuated a teammate. The darkness sits heavy on us, crushing our spirits, smothering the last spark of enthusiasm we had for this race. My eyes fill with tears an underground spring needing to burst. Don t cry, I think. Don t be such a girl. I look up and notice that the stars are appearing one at a time, tiny sparks of hope and reminders that the wilderness gives and takes. I breathe in the sharp mountain air it is a breath for the flame re-igniting the passion, the reason I m here. When was the last time you did something wildly different, exciting or extreme? Took an art class? Rode in a hot air balloon? Read War and Peace? Volunteered at a hospice? Climbed a mountain? Hiked a canyon? Fly fished? We choose the life we experience and we bring to our jobs the passion we nurture or the passion we smother. Organizations need to learn how to ignite the passion individuals carry within. After all, organizations are people and, if the flames of passion burn bright, so does the organization. 7:55 p.m. Door Prize Drawings and Adjourn
