V O L U M E X I V 2 0 1 7 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE I hope this message find everyone doing well. Moreover, I hope each of you is finding time from busy and prosperous schedules to enjoy some of the things in life that really matter like, faith, family, friends and enjoying God s creation whether it be on a golf course, lake or the patio of your favorite restaurant! As busy as we all are in our businesses, we have also been busy as an association working to bring value to our members. We have lots going on, but I want to bring a few things to your attention. We have successfully launched our first online AIA accredited course called One Coat Stucco. This course will allow architect the opportunity to earn AIA credits while being educated on one coat systems in the comfort of their offices, homes, etc. Next we will be adding an online course pertaining to Continuous Insulation (CI) systems that allow drainage. The board believes that this is just one of many steps necessary to position TLPCA as an authority with regards to plaster wall assemblies. Special thanks to Rick Durham with EZ Wall Concentrate for his hard work to get this first presentation launched. As I am writing this letter, we have over 20+ members attending a Stucco Doing It Right course being held at Texas Star in Euless, TX. Again, as an association we believe that a better educated workforce will provide more opportunities for the entire industry in the future. Special thanks to Rick Durham, Flavio Ronzani, Yvonne Shelton, Mike Boyd and Steve Etkin & company at AWCI for making this all come together. I am also excited about the upcoming convention slated for June 14-16 in at the Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria. We have moved our venue into the city to be closer to the design community and hopefully bring more exposure to our manufacturer members with additional traffic at the trade show. I am excited about the education sessions and hope that the information provided brings added benefit to all our members. A detailed look at our education sessions can be found on our website at www.tlpca.org. and is provided in our newsletter. I want to express my gratitude to our exhibitors, presenters and education committee for all their hard work. P A G E 3 Our manufacturers dinner will have a bit of a different twist this year. The event will be hosted at The Redneck Country Club which is a relaxed atmosphere venue that features live music, cold drinks and proper southern food. This should be lots of fun for all to be had. Let me also remind everyone to attend our annual business meeting on Thursday, June 15 th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. We are an association run by our members and in order to continue to provide benefit to the group, we need your input and participation. Please take the time to make your voice heard! Last but certainly not least, I want to personally thank Yvonne for all of her hard work, patience and help that she has provided to me along with the association over the past year. She is a true asset to our group and I can t thank her enough for all she does. I look forward to seeing everyone in Houston. Many Blessings, Tanner Spears 2016 2017 TLPCA President Stucco Doing It Right Seminar May 18, 2017 TLPCA is hosting the AWCI s Stucco Doing It Right Seminar May 18th at the Texas Star Golf Course (1400 Texas Star Pkwy., Euless, TX 76040).
