As you must be aware a number of consultant and practitioner reports as well as scholarly research increasingly indicate the growing importance of efficient and effective supply chain management. A key component to support a successful SCM endeavor is procurement. Ever since the proliferation of the Internet/Web starting in the mid part of the 1990s and the open systems standards that underlie the Internet/Web vis-àvis the proprietary technologies of electronic data interchange (EDI) there has been considerable interest in digitizing the entire value chain. Recent reports indicate that despite such interest and enthusiasm the ground realities are that the penetration and integration of digitization of even the supply chain have not been adequately realized. As a token of our appreciation for companies that participate in this study we will provide them with an Executive Summary Report that will outline the aggregate findings of our study. We anticipate that our study findings would enable these firms to benchmark themselves against their peers as well as provide them an insight into the various benefits of/barriers to successful implementation of EPS and the key factors that need to be well understood to effectively implement these systems. ISM-Milwaukee asks for your help by participating in this survey.
