2nd Annual Pediatric Trauma Symposium Friday, September 23, 2016 FedEx Institute of Technology Memphis, Tennessee Course Description This seminar has been designed to provide the healthcare practitioner with up to date clinical information of management of injured patients in the pediatric population. A faculty of an ACS verified Pediatric Level I Trauma Center will address relevant issues and provide valuable information and insight on current issues across the continuum of trauma care. Target Audience This course is designed for all levels of providers including first responders, EMS, emergency room physicians, ICU physicians, nurses and other professionals involved in treating injured children. Objectives Upon completion of this course, the participant should: Recognize injuries that are time sensitive and address issues with long transports Recognize and review management strategies of concussions Recognize symptoms of post-traumatic stress in pediatric patients Describe the methods of initial assessment of an injured pediatric patient Review skills and techniques in trauma simulation training Recognize signs and symptoms of non-accidental trauma in the pediatric patient Describe injuries due to ATV accidents and understand statistics Recognize abdominal injuries due to trauma Accreditation Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Credit Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. TM This activity will provide 6.75 contact hours. Tuition The registration fee is $125.00 for physicians; $75.00 for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants; Residents, Fellows, Nurses, EMS and all other healthcare professionals. The fee includes breakfast, lunch and breaks. Full refund will be given for cancellation notice in writing before August 31, 2016. Cancellations after that date will be assessed a fee.
