CONSENT ITEMS L. Minutes of previous meetings, Grant Awards/Requests, Personnel Transactions, & Financial Transactions Minutes from September 15, 2014 Board Meeting Grants GRCC received from September 1, 2015 to September 30, 2015. A grant of $99,425 was received from the U.S. Department of Education for the continuation of the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program FY 2015-2016. The program provides childcare services to GRCC students who are economically disadvantaged, a single parent or guardian, a pregnant single woman, a displaced homemaker, or an individual with a disability or with limited English proficiency. A grant award of $5,000 was awarded to the GRCC Foundation from the Frey Foundation in support of SCHOLARfest 2015. GRCC, in partnership with Macomb Community College (lead applicant), was awarded an American Apprenticeship Initiative grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The total award is $3,988,431, and GRCC s portion is $1,848,637. The colleges will join to create the Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus (MAP+), a comprehensive expansion of best practices to increase the depth, breadth, and success of American Apprenticeships that aims to address growing employer needs, and the need of middle-skilled workers to have access to sustainable wage employment.
