The donaton wll fund Year-2 mantenance, lcensng and cloud storage for 860 body-worn cameras. The Cty plans to cover the costs for Years 3 through 5. The cameras were deployed to three LAPD dvsons: Msson, Newton and Central Traffc, and three specalzed unts wthn Central Area. The deployment was completed n September 2015, and as of October 14, 2015, 37,000 vdeos had been captured on the body-worn cameras. Ths wll assst offcers n provdng accurate depctons of events for courtroom presentaton, capturng potentally ncrmnatng statements from suspects, documentng and revewng statements from vctms and wtnesses, and obtanng actual tme frames of events for reportng purposes. The total cost of the Year-2 mantenance for the cameras s $769,734.00. The LAPF has prevously allocated $306,097.00 for ths request from pror grants, leavng $463,637.00 to be funded from the LAPF general fund. Chef Informaton Offcer Magge Goodrch, Informaton Technology Bureau, has approved the purchase and use of the body-worn cameras for the Department. The body-wom cameras are covered wth a one-year warranty for mantenance. \
