CONNECT. COMMUNICATE. COLLABORATE. IN KCMO Kansas City, MO is home to some of our nation s greatest pioneers, a place where unique ideas and creative thinking come alive. Join your colleagues this October and: Connect in the Heartland of America for four days of learning, idea sharing, and network building. Communicate best practices, celebrate successes, and tackle current challenges with like-minded professionals from across the country, and beyond. Collaborate on ways to advance our industry as a whole while enhancing your operations. We look forward to seeing you at NAPT s 44 th Annual Conference & Trade Show. We promise you a... BIG SHOW! WHY THE NAPT CONFERENCE? WE UNDERSTAND THAT TRAVEL AND TRAINING BUDGETS ARE ALWAYS UNDER SCRUTINY. YOU MAY NEED TO JUSTIFY THE EXPENSE, SO HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER. Register early and save $100! Be ready with a plan that shows who will cover for you while you are attending the conference. Your supervisor will want to know the return on investment. Focus on what you will specifically bring back to your district and how it s relevant to your duties and responsibilities. Offer to prepare and deliver a short presentation and Q&A to your business official, superintendent and/or school board to share what you learned. Share speaker handouts with your colleagues. As an attendee, you have unlimited access to materials posted by speakers. If you are working to obtain or maintain your certification, remind your supervisor that this is a great (and sometimes only) way to earn credits. Your NAPT Full Conference (or Trade Show Only) Registration covers your fee to attend our oneday Trade Show, allowing you to network with industry vendors. During the Trade Show you ll be able to learn about new products and services and bring back suggestions for improved efficiency and increased savings.

UNIQUE SESSION FORMATS Our goal throughout the entire Conference is to provide information on a variety of topics and give Delegates the opportunity to connect with one another. Again this year we offer a great line-up of industry professionals and national thought leaders on issues impacting student transportation. Back by Popular Demand! NEXTPLORATORY SESSIONS Take a closer look at current and upcoming trends in transportation, education, technology, leadership, and beyond. For 90 minutes you ll have the opportunity to interact and engage with the presenter and fellow participants. Delegate Favorite! HEADLINER/SPINOFF SESSIONS During these sessions everyone comes together to hear four 10-minute presentations on different topics Headliners. Then, you ll choose which of those four sessions you want to learn more about the Spinoff. Spend those 40 minutes getting more in-depth with a smaller group of people interested in the same topic. SESSION TEASERS: School Safety & Security Issues Entry Level Driver Training Student Behavior Management Electric Bus Technology Hot Topics: Special Needs Transportation Latest Federal Regulations: A Comprehensive Overview Emerging Transportation Technologies School Transportation Risk Management FEATURED SESSIONS LIVE ACTION EVENT: CRITICAL FACTORS IN EMERGENCY EVACUATION A number of factors impact student evacuation from the school bus. Join us for this live action event as we demonstrate various emergency situations designed to help better understand their effect on evacuation times. Mark your calendar: The Live Action Event, hosted by the Lee s Summit R7 Schools, is scheduled for Saturday, October 27. Transportation to the location will be provided. NEW IDEAS EXCHANGE After spending a couple of days connecting and communicating with peers and industry thought leaders, we ll gather one last time to discuss key take-aways from the full event while collaborating on ways to implement new ideas and strategies inspired by this year s program. This is a great opportunity to keep conversations going and make lasting connections before heading home. Mark your calendar: The exchange, facilitated by Tony Civitella, CEO of Transfinder, will take place Tuesday, October 30 immediately following the Trade Show.

NAPT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES (PDS) As the industry s leading organization dedicated to supporting and developing world-class professionals, NAPT in collaboration with the NAPT Foundation provides cutting-edge educational programs designed to advance your career. The Professional Development Series (PDS) consists of nearly 40 different courses that serve as the foundation for professionals seeking to advance their career or who are working toward their certification. Each year at the NAPT Conference we offer several PDS courses at no additional cost for NAPT members. This year we re offering the following courses: PDS 204: Team Communication Strategies PDS 303: Procurement and Budget Management PDS 304: Data Driven Decision-Making PDS 404: Human Resources Critical Issues PDS 505: School Facility Planning PDS 601: School Bus Routing & Scheduling I PDS 604: Transportation Program Planning and Evaluation PDS 608: Developing a Safety Program PDS 609: Accident Investigation PDS 704: Strategic Planning for Transportation Departments PDS 801: Transporting Students with Disabilities & Special Needs PDS 802: Positioning, Seating & Securing of Students with Disabilities & Special Needs PDS 803: Specialized Equipment on the School Bus PDS 804: Products, Services & Equipment Options for Transporting Students with Disabilities & Special Needs PDS 805: Supporting Safe Behavior on the School Bus for Students with Disabilities & Special Needs For session descriptions, visit www.napt.org. If you have any questions regarding NAPT PDS courses, or industry certification, contact NAPT at 800.989.6278 or info@napt.org. WE NEED YOUR HELP! NAPT PDS courses are popular and many courses end up with extensive waiting lists. In an effort to continue offering these classes, this year we re asking for your help. Only register for courses you are sure to take. We often experience no-shows when we re onsite, and that denies one of your colleagues the opportunity to take the course. Plus we end up with our equivalent of an extra, empty bus driving down the road. Do not register for conflicting courses. When selecting your courses, be sure to choose only one course for each selected time slot. If multiple courses are selected for the same time, NAPT staff will make a selection for you, at their discretion. You cannot be on multiple lists for the same time slot. Show up to courses on time. If you are not at the course on time, your spot may be given away to someone from the waitlist. If you are unsure what classes you have already taken, or what classes you need to take for a certain certification, please check your NAPT member profile, visit www.napt.org or contact NAPT headquarters before signing up for PDS courses. Please note that you are not required to sign up for PDS courses. We have a full conference program in place, so even if you do not participate in any PDS courses, there will still be plenty of educational sessions for you to participate in.
