ACCURATE

WELCOME On behalf of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Board of Directors and our president, Tom Ryan, I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who make the 2018 NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals such a huge success. This signature event is so very important to our sport for many reasons. We are also forever grateful for the extraordinarily generous and ongoing support of Dave Dean and his organization NUWAY for being outstanding host of this event. We are also thankful for our presenting partners The United States Marine Corps, Theraworx, and Applied Silver. We also want to thank the city of Fort Wayne and the War Memorial Coliseum for hosting this event. The staff and community have been outstanding to work with. We are also excited to report that we will once again be nationally televising one exciting dual meet from each of the five collegiate divisions on Fox College Sports on a tape-delayed basis. Fox College Sports is committed to rebroadcasting each dual meet a minimum of 10x for a total of 50 national broadcasts to a potential universe of 54 million homes each airing. Of course, this event would not be possible without the support of our top wrestling programs. These teams endure very grueling seasons and it speaks volumes of their commitment to support the National Duals being that is so important to the long term growth of our sport. In fact, high profile events such as the National Duals are essential to sustaining our success with strengthening our most vulnerable collegiate wrestling programs and also with adding new intercollegiate wrestling programs. Since 2001, the NWCA has helped to establish over 180 new intercollegiate wrestling programs and in recent years, we ve been adding between 10 and 20 new teams annually in all collegiate divisions. In fact, 42 of the 86 teams participating in the Multi-Divisional National Duals were established just since 2001. In closing, we hope everyone enjoys a terrific two days of wrestling. Collectively, we should all celebrate our sport s heroes and champions at the NWCA Multi- Divisional National Duals and be thankful for the relentless efforts of so many wrestling stakeholders who are insuring a bright future for wrestling. Sincerely, Mike Moyer Executive Director, NWCA
