What s Happening! SCHOOL LITURGY. Our weekly school liturgy will be Wednesday, October 10, 8 a.m. Fifth grade students will lead the Mass and altar servers are Charles Tramonte and Kailyn Vessel. Dress uniforms are required and please remember a non-perishable food item for the Sacred Heart of Jesus St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES. Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in first through fifth grades are Friday, October 19. There will be no school for those students that day. Conferences for sixth through eighth grade students will be held Monday, October 22. There will be no school for those students that day. EARLY DISMISSAL. On Wednesday, October 24th, students will be dismissed at 12 p.m. for Faculty In-Service. INDIVIDUAL PICTURE ORDERS. Individual picture make-up and retake day is Thursday, October 18. If you d like your child to receive retakes, please return your proof sheet to school ASAP. Also, any students absent on our original picture day will be photographed on Thursday, October 18. St. Joseph s Academy will hold a 150th anniversary Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, October 21, 2 p.m., St. Joseph Cathedral. The Mass will commemorate the coming of the Sisters of St. Joseph to Baton Rouge. A reception will follow and the public is invited to attend. SJA STICKER STAMPEDE. Registration is now open for the 8th annual St. Joseph s Academy Sticker Stampede on Saturday, November 10. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in our half-mile, one-mile, 5K, or newly-added 10K runs, presented by Varsity Sports. After the races, participants and guests will enjoy the Finisher Festival and Marketplace, featuring free food and beverages, live music, kids crafts and games, and shopping with local vendors. Fall Fest is Friday, October 26 PACKAGE ORDER. It s not too late to submit your Fall Fest Package Order! Complete and return the form on page 7 and your student is all set for a great day of Fall Fest fun! JAMBALAYA. Jambalaya order forms went home yesterday. Pleae note that all jambalay must be pre-ordered by October 23rd. You don t want to miss out on this delicious Fall Fest treat! FALL FEST T-SHIRTS & SPIRIT DAY. Fall Fest t-shirts will be delivered on Thursday, October 11. Orders placed after the September 28th deadline may not be delivered! Our first Fall Fest Spirit Day is Friday, October 12. Students may wear their Fall Fest Monster Mash t-shirt with long blue or black jeans or school uniform pants or shorts. A second date will be held next week and will be announced in The Tuesday Newsletter. VOLUNTEERING. Fall Fest volunteer sign-ups are now available through SignUpGenius! Many volunteer and donation opportunities are available to earn PIP hours. Volunteers will earn DOUBLE PIP HOURS the day of Fall Fest. Other PIP opportunities incude the donation of the following: 2 dozen sweets = 1 PIP (NO NUTS) 4 2-Liter bottles of SPECIFIED SOFT DRINKS = 1 PIP 1 case of full-sized water = 1 PIP 10 lbs. of SPECIFIED candy = 1 PIP (NO NUTS) Monetary Donations - $20 donation = 1 PIP 1 Tent = 1 PIP Please sign up through SignUp Genius and label all donations with your name, your child s name and grade, and the items included in your donation. Catholic High School will hold its annual Open House for boys in sixth through eighth grades on Thurday, November 8, 4:30 until 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.catholichigh.org.
