Dr. Puckett will explain why some invaders stick around and thrive and why others don t and dive into the recent invasive species that have been causing you headaches (or will be soon!) L Identification and Control of Weeds in Xeriscapes Richard Lee, Ph.D., Bureau of Land Management Weeds are a blight on landscapes and stick out like a sore thumb in xeriscapes. Improve your margins by going back to the basics of weed management by recognizing the primary species of xeriscape weeds in the Southwest, understanding what conditions are conducive to their growth, and realizing how can they be stopped cold in their tracks. While the introduction of new products and active ingredients has made things easier on PMPs, there are still major challenges to overcoming some infestations like the emergence of Turkestan cockroaches and the elevated levels of resistant populations popping up around the country. This

session will separate fact from fiction and provide an up-to-date report on cockroach management in 2016.
