VIMY RIDGE TRIP 07: pril 07 marks a very special anniversary for Canada. It will be the 00th nniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge. On the morning of pril 9th 97, all four divisions of the Canadian rmy successfully attacked the German stronghold at Vimy Ridge in France. The highest point of the ridge, Hill 5, where a monument now stands to honour Canada s fallen, was captured on that day by a bayonet charge against heavy German machine gun fire. For many, Vimy Ridge is seen as a defining moment when Canada truly became a nation. Dunbarton will be joining thousands of other Canadian students in pril 07 to mark the 00th nniversary of Vimy Ridge.
