OBJECTIVE 1

Objective 1: promoting an inclusive and empowered society in partner countries & regions In-country interventions in targeted countries Country situations not conducive to NSA/LA involvement in development process Populations out of reach of mainstream services, excluded from policy-making processes Multi-country, global and regional interventions

Multi-country calls for proposals Are launched at headquarters (HQ) in Brussels The proposals received are evaluated by assessors hired by the headquarters (HQ) Contracts are prepared by the EC delegations in different countries Projects are followed by the EC delegations in different countries (ex: 2 multi-country projects are currently managed by the EC delegation in Vietnam) In-country calls for proposals Are launched by the delegations The proposals received are evaluated by assessors hired by the delegations or by staff of the delegation Contracts are prepared by the EC delegations in different countries Projects are followed by the EC delegations in different countries

Objective Ia: Actions aimed at promoting an inclusive and empowered society in partner countries In Country - NSA Indicative amount: 134 000 000 EUR under budget line 21 03 01 «NSA in development» Implementation: 87 DELs to publish preferrably a restricted Call for Proposal (Jan 2010 for 2009 funds or later) o Grants awareded: between 20 000 and 1 000 000 EUR o o EC co-financing = maximum 75% of the total eligible costs Duration of the action: between 12 and 60 months

Objective Ib: Actions aimed at promoting an inclusive and empowered society in partner countries Multi Country - NSA Indicative amount: 18 450 000 EUR under budget line 21 03 01 «NSA in development» Implementation: A single call for proposal (restricted) will be published in the 1st semester of 2010 (April-May) o Grants awareded: between 500 000 and 4 000 000 EUR o EC co-financing = maximum 75% of the total eligible costs o Duration of the action: between 24 and 60 months

OBJECTIVE 2

Objective II: DEAR priorities and expected results Objective II: Awareness raising and development education in the EU and acceding countries for development issues Priorities: 1. Public support for MDG agenda, in particular sub- Saharan Africa 2. Coherence for development in areas of public interest: migration, trade, security, social dimension of globalisation 3. Media and development Expected results: Increased public awareness on global interdependencies between EU and developping countries - focus on: o Better integration of development issues into formal and non-formal education systems in MS

Objective II: DEAR Indicative amount: 25 000 000 EUR under budget line 21 03 01 «NSA in development» - same amount as in 2009 o 20% allocated preferably to DEAR actions in the 12 NMS Implementation: A single call for proposal (restricted) will be published in the 1st semester of 2010 (April-May) o o o Grants awareded: between 100 000 and 1 000 000 EUR (exception: 12 NMS: between 25 000 and 1 000 000 EUR) EC co-financing = maximum 75% of the total eligible costs (exception: 12 NMS: 90%) Duration of the action: between 12 and 36 months

Objective 3: Coordination & networking activities in the EU and acceding countries Priorities: Information networks, exchange of best practices between and within organisations Dialogue and exchange of best practices between different types of actors Interaction with EU institutions Calls for proposals: next one March - April 2010, open Call for Proposals Targeted projects: linked to obejctives 2 & 3
