UMBC Professional & Continuing Education Department of Emergency Health Services PNCCT sm /NR Paramedic Refresher Requirements /Breakdown Comparison If you ARE an NCCP State, the following applies to you: NRP~NCCP Requirements: a total of 60 hours of continuing education A. Complete a State or CAPCE (F1, F2, F3**, F5) approved 30 hour Paramedic National Continued Competency Requirements (NCCR) course or equivalent state or CECBEMS approved continuing education. Successful completion of the UMBC PNCCT will provide 30 hours of the required NCCR 30 hour requirement. B. 15 hours of Local Continued Competency Requirements (LCCR) additional state or CAPCE (F1, F2, F3**, F5) approved EMS related continuing education. 100% Attendance/ completion of the UMBC PNCCT will provide you an additional x hours which you may apply to LCCR. (You MUST check with your individual State or PNCCT Coordinator to ascertain which topics of PNCCT will be applicable to your State LCCR established requirements. It is possible that PNCCT will fulfill all 15 hours but you must verify this on your own.) C. 15 hours of Individual Continued Competency Requirements (ICCR). Must be state or CAPCE (F1, F2, F3**, F5) approved EMS-related continuing education. 100% Attendance/ completion of the UMBC PNCCT will provide you an additional 15 hours which you may apply to ICCR. You will receive a course attendance certificate upon 100% attendance/completion of the course for 56 total continuing education hours. If you are NOT an NCCP State, the following applies to you: NRP Requirements: a total of 72 hours of continuing education A. DOT 48 hour Traditional Paramedic Refresher Completion of a state or CAPCE (F1, F2, F3*, F5) approved 48 hour Paramedic refresher course. 100% Attendance/ completion of the UMBC ONCCT will provide 46 hours of the required 48 hours for Section 1A/1B. B. Section 2 - an additional 24 hours of continuing education activity 100% Attendance/ completion of the UMBC PNCCT will provide 10 hours of the required 24 hours for Section 2 C. ACLS and CPR (or their equivalents are required) You will receive a course attendance certificate upon 100% attendance/completion of the course for 56 total continuing education hours. Please check with your State EMS Office or NREMT to determine if your State is an NCCP or non-nccp State. You will earn 56 hours of F2 contact hours from UMBC thru CAPCE. NCCP: In order to apply CCEMTP hours to your Local LCCR Mandatory hours you must determine the local topics set forth by your State EMS Office. Please work with your Site Coordinator (the course site which you completed your CCEMTP course) to determine the eligible content hours which you may apply to LCCR. **(Your site coordinator will provide you with a complete, detailed breakdown at the end of your course, suitable for National Registry purposes.)
