It Takes a Village to Raise a Festival! Do you have an hour or two? If you LOVE our festival we need you to volunteer for a shift. Thank you visit www.ohspa.org OH Fall Festival & Marketplace Is right around the corner! Bring the whole family and celebrate rain or shine! Friday, September 24, 2016 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Interested in Model UN Club? Attention any high school student interested in participating in the Ottawa Hills Model United Nations Club this school year. There will be two FYI meetings to discuss the Model UN Club on Thursday, Sept 22. The first will be at 11:20am in room 205 and the second at 3:10pm in room 205. These meetings will last about 30 minutes. Please plan to attend ONE of the two meetings. Attention All 7 th and 8 th Graders interested in joining MathCounts: Our first meeting will be this Wednesday, September 21, during lunch in Mrs. Drabek s room, Room 150 Bring your lunch and a pencil and join the fun of problem solving! Attention ALL high school girls in grades 9-12 There will be a brief basketball meeting in Coach Mercer s room this Friday Sept. 23rd at 3 PM. This is for current players and ALL girls that may consider playing this year. Please come

prepared to ask current players and Coach Mercer any questions that you may have about our program. Our numbers are very low and we need ALL girls that currently DO NOT play to please consider playing so that we have enough players for a JV and a Varsity team. We have had a JV and Varsity team since our program started in the mid 1970s (over 40 years ago). Please consider playing this year, so that we can continue our strong tradition. If you cannot attend the meeting on Friday, at least stop to see Coach Mercer to express your interest in playing. The meeting will last less than 30 minutes and pizza will be provided. Investment and Finance Club is back! The first meeting of this school year will be today in Mr. Lindsay's room at 3:05. Hope to you see all there. Prize-winning Cornhole Tournament Once again the Fall Festival will hold a Cornhole Tournament. You can pre-register or register on the day of the festival. Cost is $10. Forms are in the main office, and will be collected there as well. The is a single elimination tournament that begins with a warmup at 11 and the tournament at noon. Prizes are $100 first place, $50 second prize, $30 third prize, and $10 fourth prize. Sign up today! Dream of Faraway Lands?

Find yourself daydreaming about the sights and sounds of faraway lands? We do too! Join the AFS sponsored club for it s first meeting during lunch Friday September 23rd in Ms Lehmann s art room. We ll be discussing our plans for the year ahead! Interested, but can t make it? Make sure to stop by to join our mailing list. Art Enthusiasts Attention creative minds and crafty hands, Art Club is on the horizon! Please join Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Lehmann on Wednesday, September 21st, at 11:15 for our inaugural meeting. Art Club is open to junior and senior high students, so grab a friend and stop by room 127 on the 21st to join in the fun. Camp Counselors Needed Attention high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors: the sixth grade teachers are looking for energetic, responsible, and spirited students to be this year's camp counselors! If you are interested in this amazing service opportunity to mentor this year's sixth graders in their outdoor camp experience, please pick up a packet from the High School office. Packets are due Wednesday, Oct. 5 th. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Morris at the elementary school.

Pumpkin Sale The annual Pumpkin Sale will be held after school on Wednesday 9/21 and Thursday 9/22 by the Land Lab outside the elementary school. Large pumpkins will be for sale for $4 or $6 each. Be sure to stop by to buy pumpkins and support OHSPA! Pumpkin Decorating Contest It's time for the annual pumpkin decorating contest! Get a pumpkin at the pumpkin sale, plan your design, and enter your pumpkin into the contest between 11:00am and 1:00pm at the Fall Festival on Saturday, 9/24. Jr. high students may enter their pumpkins in the "Best Junior High" category, and all Jr. and Sr. High students may enter the "Family category" if you work together with anyone else in your family. Cash prizes will be awarded!! Homecoming Bids Homecoming bids will be for sale during lunch in the hallway until tomorrow. Single bids are $20.00 and double bids are $40.00. The homecoming dance is Oct. 8th. College Visits 12:05 pm Defiance College in the High School Conference Room OH Young Democrats The Ottawa Hills Young Democrats will be holding their first meeting today at 3:15 in the Library. Everyone is welcome to come! The meeting will last about 45 minutes and snacks will be provided.

(It will be the area to the right and 1-2 left of Geresy field where the large opening is to enter the field between the bushes. I believe the parking spots will be coned off on Thursday evening.
