Long Beach 2030: Imagine One Great City The Long Beach 2030 Plan is the process to update the City's General Plan, a comprehensive, long-term plan that creates a vision for the future of our great city. The Department of Development Services is nearing completion of the Mobility Chapter of the General Plan. The contents of the plan are being finalized and will be presented to the Planning Commission in November in a study session with review and adoption by Planning Commission and City Council to follow. The highlights of the proposed Mobility policies, and its effect on the Broadway Corridor, are being presented tonight by Steve Gerhardt, from the City s Development Services Department.

Neighborhood News Distribution & Name Change Changed to e-mail & BHNA website based distribution Post card notification of each enews issue & upcoming Neighborhood Forums Saves cost of paper, printing & postage Reduces total paper usage, i.e., more green Reduces time needed to prepare the newsletter

July 4, 2012 Celebration/Block Party Planning Planning to return in 2012 with this popular Bluff Heights holiday event Held first Kickoff Planning Meeting on October 6 th; there were 9 attendees, representing both sections of Vista This group agreed it was a good idea to alternate the event every year, keeping it on East Vista for 2012 and then moving it West for 2013. Concerns getting additional volunteers Discussed logistics - permission slips, city permit, street closure, donations, sponsors, signage, buntings, etc. Next meeting date - TBD
