01 Message from Chairman I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all donors, industry friends and alumni for their generosity and unfailing support to VTC. We are truly thankful for your kind contributions. Through your various donation initiatives, our young people are offered the opportunities to engage in different student development activities, broaden their learning horizons and demonstrate their full potential in pursuit of their dreams, beyond the vocational training and education they undergo at VTC. Since its establishment in 2012, the VTC Student Development Foundation has benefited from your strong support, with significant progress made towards realising the whole-person development of students. During the same year, VTC was included in the sixth round of the government s Matching Grant Scheme and the full sum of the matching grant allocated to us has been channelled to our Student Development Foundation, in support of student development. Catering to the needs of industry and students, we have implemented over a hundred learning schemes. In support of industry future development, the new campuses of Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) and International Culinary Institute (ICI) will soon be completed, where new curricula tailored for the unique needs of local workplace settings, are to be provided. When it comes to whole-person development, we hope to raise the overall calibre of students by increasing their exposure in the areas of overseas exchange, international competitions, internships and career planning. In the years ahead, we will continue to strive and promote the whole-person development of students, cultivating their positive outlook in life and work attitude while enabling them to join the various professions by what they have learnt, in order to contribute back to the society. 02 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 Message from Executive Director Many students have benefited from the diverse student development programmes, thanks to the backing of our donors and alumni. To you all, we owe a debt of gratitude. Your scholarships on outstanding performance across disciplines have given great encouragement to our students and strengthened their self-confidence. It is only with your generous donations that they have the opportunity to participate in various international competitions as well as grow and transform through these events. Your contributions have also made it possible for them to join overseas exchanges, pursue further education and internship, expand horizons and establish lifelong networks. Similarly with your assistance, students with urgent financial needs have been offered timely relief, enabling them to continue their education with peace of mind. Some of the donations are used to enhance learning facilities, providing a simulated practical environment for students to actualise their learning. What I find most encouraging is to see the huge transformations in students, brought about by your appropriate support and guidance. Not only have they become more positive and proactive on their learning, they have also fostered greater self-confidence and loving care for the larger community. Student beneficiaries I spoke to often expressed their gratitude and thanks to the donors, pledging to study and work harder in order to pay back to the society, help others in need and live up to the expectations of their benefactors. 03 { VCare } VCare is a social service learning programme aimed at nurturing the civil consciousness of students and their caring attitude towards the community. Through a series of workshops and guest seminars, it provides training in the planning of activities and services for the needy groups. Backed by social service organisations, students are responsible for identifying their target groups, developing the event content and overseeing every aspect of project execution. Sponsored by The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust since 2013, over 900 students conducted more than 60 community services programmes, which had helped the needy in the society. After School Care Putting themselves into teacher s shoes for the first time, the students of the After School Care Programme were often touched by the purity and innocence of the kids they looked after. Student Yuen Ming Chu said: From the time we were strangers to when we built emotional bonds and I started receiving surprise birthday gifts of caricatures of myself, secretly sketched by the kids, I was moved by the experience profoundly. As for Wong Sin Yi, she recalled: Once after escorting them on a Science Museum tour, the last activity of the programme, all the kids lined up and said thank you and good-bye to us in unison. It was unforgettable! This programme has not only inculcated patience and a sense of responsibility in the students, but also a far-reaching impact on the kids, who would remember the love received and become inspired to pass on the legacy of care and love by undertaking voluntary work themselves. Love and Care Education Happy Family The Happy Family programme students paid visit to families of new immigrants regularly. They led the parents in games designed to deepen their bonds with their own kids. Every activity in this project was finalised for implementation only after several rounds of brainstorming by the students. Sharing her experiences, student Wong Po Ling said: Project management requires prior discussion and follow up on each of the many details. No part of the process can be overlooked. When contingency incidents or disagreements are encountered, good communication skills are a must to resolve the problems together among the group members. We Care! Our Big Family After a few months of visiting the solitary elders, the students not only picked up the skills of communicating with them, but the experience also strengthened their civic spirit, prompting the students to care more for the elderly citizens in the society. Student Chan Chun Wai said: The activity made me realise that a simple chat with the elderly about their past would make them happy. I would continue my voluntary work to help those in need!

04 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 { Speak for Success } Sponsored by HSBC, the Speak for Success Programme seeks to enhance students communication skills and cultivate their self-confidence, in order to become an outstanding leader. In 2014/15, 500 students joined various workshops and seminars to polish their Chinese and English oratory and compering skills. They also learnt the intonations, body languages and acting techniques of drama for application in everyday communication and public speaking. Putting what they learnt into practice, students became community journalists, reporting on traditional arts in Hong Kong, to bolster their storytelling abilities. Through speaking contests, they took part in group reviews to uplift their overall oral presentation skills. The programme covers an extensive range of topics and content, to provide students with training outside their school subjects to further their personal development. I used to be reluctant to speak in English, said Ko Lai Ling, a student who took part in the programme. As someone afraid of doing presentations, she felt that she has made impressive strides in self-development, now that she is brave enough to speak publicly and even compere events. The truth is that public speaking is not as difficult as I imagined. So long as one has a grasp of the techniques of conveying one s messages clearly, it could be successfully done. Even when she had finished all the prepared questions in the seminars she hosted, she could act according to the situation and initiate exchanges between guests and audience, reflecting her ability to flexibly apply what she has learnt. The instructor guided us to overcome the fears of public speaking, and encouraged us to speak and practise. So long as you are willing to master the courage to speak up, and practise relentlessly, you will improve and gradually build up your self-confidence to overcome any future challenges. Through this programme, students are given the opportunity to learn from senior HSBC executives first hand and interact with them, with plenty of benefits to be gained. With encouragement from the senior HSBC executives, we are determined to take our learning seriously and prepare ourselves for the future! they added. Eloquence with Words

05 { The Alistair Harvey Foundation Scholarship } The Alistair Harvey Foundation Scholarship was established in 2004 to provide academically bright and talented VTC students with the financial support to pursue bachelor s or even master s degree in the UK. Covering tuition fee, accommodation and living allowances, the scholarship enables students to study abroad and realise their dreams. Since its inception, it has benefited more than 100 students and over half of them have pursued further to master s and/or doctorate qualifications. Mr Timothy Shuen was awarded the scholarship to study biotechnology in the UK, where the learning scope was extraordinarily vast, covering knowledge application for improving the life of mankind to the conversion of bioscience concepts into business opportunities, incorporating elements like accounting and cost computation, with the emphasis on practical application. This subject reflected real-life needs, and opened up a brand new world for him. After graduating from Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), he completed his bachelor s and master s programmes in the UK, and took up a doctorate programme with The University of Hong Kong. Presently engaged in cancer research work in Singapore, Timothy described his progression as a valuable journey. Studying in IVE laid an important foundation for me. And the scholarship offered the chance for me to study abroad, ignited my passion for research and bolstered my confidence to take up my doctorate studies. Without the financial means afforded by the scholarship, it would not be possible for me to have such achievements! Another scholarship recipient Mr Josh Ho chose to study civil engineering. The atmosphere of proactive, independent learning there not only broadened his horizons, but also motivated him to work harder academically. With the strength of his outstanding attainment, Josh was later admitted into a world-class university, the Imperial College London, where he studied for a master s degree. It has always been my aspiration to bring in new technology, mindset and concepts to industry in order to push for advancement and progress, he said. After graduation, he returned to Hong Kong for employment. He hoped that with the considerable experience and credentials he has accumulated, he would be able to introduce new technologies to mainland China and other developing countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia. At present, the way he repays the society is to be a mentor with IVE, his alma mater, where he could share the knowledge and learning gained from his UK education, with his younger counterparts. If I could find a way to inspire them in learning, the potential they unleash would be infinite! He is now actively involved in voluntary work with several groups, helping to nurture the younger generations and contributing to the developments of industry. 06 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 { VTC Student Development Foundation } The VTC Student Development Foundation is set up through fundraising, to provide learning opportunities for its 50,000 full-time students to further their holistic developments. It covers local and overseas learning activities, scholarships, bursaries and improvement of teaching facilities, to enable students with differing needs equal access to extra-curricular learning opportunities. This initiative is designed to unleash students potentials, broaden their perspectives and acquaint them with multi-culturalism. The Foundation has, to date, financed over 2,000 students in more than 90 overseas learning and exchange activities. Agriculture study trip in Taiwan Collaborating with the Taiwan National University, the IVE Applied Science Department organised an agricultural field trip for a delegation of students. The itinerary included a visit to the University s experimental farm, seminar by the Taiwan Executive Yuan where local government officials were invited to speak, and study how private organic farm operates. Mr Chris Ho, a lecturer in the visiting team, said: Taiwan s agricultural industry has a longstanding history, with a reputation in advanced farming technology. The island is similar to Hong Kong in climate, environment and lifestyle, thus there is much to learn. The trip familiarised our students with their agricultural policies and the sector s latest developments. In addition, they also soaked up considerable knowledge on organic farming and arboriculture, particularly on brown root rot, together with the preventive and curative measures to take against this virulent disease in trees. Such know-how is hard to come by in Hong Kong, and offers useful knowledge and experiences that our city could draw on.

07 Child care education exchange in Australia Mrs Vega Poon, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Child Education and Community Services said: Social Constructivism is a theory often discussed in child education. The emphasis is placed on the independent nature of learning, where children take the initiative to discover and construct the things they learn. Australia has done excellent work in putting the concept into practice. Cheung Fung Yee, a Higher Diploma student in Child Care and Education recalled: In Australia, young children roam in gardens where they are free to choose what they want to learn from nature. The activity inspires them to learn through their own creative efforts. Teachers lead children by asking questions and passing on new knowledge whom have a pivotal role in stimulating a child s desire for independent learning. Flexible teaching methods are therefore of utmost importance. Worldchefs Congress in Norway Organised by the World Association of Chefs Societies, the Worldchefs Congress has a long 86-year history. By attending the Congress, students witnessed international chefs pit their skills in cooking contests and undertook exchanges with industry professionals. Lectures by professional chefs and site visits also drew attention to global topics such as food shortages and waste treatment. Exposure to these enabled students understanding of the food culture and latest development trends, prompting them to rethink the issues and come up with innovative solutions. Yiu On Kei, a Diploma in European Cuisine student said: I have never thought that Dong Po Pork could be prepared by Western culinary methods. The world is evolving and we must change with times to progress continuously! Elective course at Elisava Barcelona School of Design in Spain THEi partnered a top design school in Spain to develop an elective course for students from the Design Faculty. Aside from classroom training, a local field trip, including a bicycle tour of Barcelona and visit to the government-owned Materfad Materials Centre, was added to let students experience the open education in Spain and understand how the country s history and culture influenced its designers and artists in outlook. Lai Sze Pui, a product design student in the programme said: The locals are highly environmentally conscious. When designing functional products, they often exercise the highest level of creativity, with the lowest-cost solutions possible, such as using a fan-shaped plastic film on a wine glass with a lit candle inside to turn it into a unique-looking lamp. Their idea of converting old items into new ones inspired me to reflect on my approach to product design. Undergraduate research projects undertaken at tertiary institutions in Japan Japan is a nation renowned for its advanced industrial technology, where its tertiary institutions are equipped with comprehensive laboratories for complex experiments, including those considered unfeasible in Hong Kong. Last year, some of our students undertook their research projects there, which reinforced their theoretical knowledge learnt from the textbooks. Yip Cheuk Kei, a Higher Diploma student in Mechanical Engineering, treasured the opportunity he was given to work in one of these facilities: The undergraduate research project I did in Japan was to study how the impact produced from the blasting of explosives could facilitate metals to form shapes. During when, I had the opportunity to design, process and produce the object on my own. It offered me a valuable first-hand experience to implement the entire experimental process myself. Such an opportunity would be unthinkable in Hong Kong, at least for the time being! Broadening Perspectives Stimulating New Mindsets

08 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 { Wu Jieh Yee Bursary } The Wu Jieh Yee Bursary, a generous donation of the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation, is awarded yearly to 50 students from low-income families, to provide them with financial relief so that they can focus on their studies. As a gesture of gratitude to the Foundation, VTC named the hall of the Chai Wan Campus of IVE, the Wu Jieh Yee Memorial Hall. Mr Ken Choi, Student Development Officer at Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and IVE (Lee Wai Lee), pointed out: Students are often forced to take up part-time work due to financial pressure, which not only hinders their studies but also prevents them from getting involved in extra-curricular activities, hence affecting their personal development. Bursary awards can help lessen their economic burden and let them concentrate more on their learning. Bursaries also offer students hope and the impetus to carry on. Ken added: Students self-esteem is usually affected by their growing-up experiences. Timely relief and assistance will let them feel the care and concern of others, and rekindle their hopes for the future, so they could continue moving forward. Li Zi Jun, a fashion design student who grew up in a single-parent family, needed to purchase designated fabric and equipment with her own money for schoolwork, which increased her study expenses considerably. Fortunately, she was awarded the bursary and it allowed her to purchase a wool-knitting machine she could use at home to complete her school assignments. As a result, she could spend more time with her mother who often worked for long hours. Expressing her gratitude to the Wu Jieh Yee Bursary for the support it offered, she said: With the bursary, I had more options in doing design work as I did not have to give up my creative ideas out of cost concerns. I also no longer needed to be engaged in part-time employment after school, which relieved my mother s worries. Li s creative excellence later won her a scholarship awarded by the Hong Kong Woollen & Synthetic Knitting Manufacturers Association. Moving Ahead with a Firm Focus on Studies

09 { Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships } The Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships (OIAS) were established in 2007 under the auspices of industry, to encourage students to work hard during internship and award those with outstanding performance, considering the evaluations of both employers and heads of teaching departments. This is resonant with VTC s think-and-do approach in requiring all Higher Diploma students studying at IVE and HKDI to complete their industrial attachments prior to graduation, so as to prepare themselves for entry into the career world. Last year, 250 scholarships were awarded with total gross value of over $600,000. Overall, there have been more than 1,200 scholarships bestowed since the inception. Over the past years, the CYMA Charity Fund has provided generous support for OIAS, while at the same time also established the CYMA Charity Fund Scholarships with the aim of recognising those who have made significant improvement in their academic performance. Every year, 100 students are awarded and more than 600 have benefited since its establishment. As Governor of the Fund, Dr Albert Ma said: Although the scholarship offers a relative small sum of money, such a form of encouragement makes students realise that good performances are appreciated by others and that utmost efforts are necessary for every task to achieve good results. The award may also herald a turning point for the students to find a direction in life. Besides offering scholarship donations, Dr Ma s company also actively contributed to the VTC Industrial Attachment Programme, providing students with internship practical training opportunities. He said: Industrial attachments let students understand the real workplace practices, apply what they learnt into practice and overcome the problems encountered. When students discover their own inadequacies, they will spur themselves to learn harder thereby uplifting their intellectual level. These students who are equipped with practical experience as well as professional knowledge and skills constitute an important supply of competent talents for employers from various sectors of Hong Kong. 10 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 { Fong Yun Wah Centre for Elderly Services } IVE Sha Tin Campus was supported by a generous donation from the Fong s Family Foundation to procure a range of sophisticated nursing and rehabilitation facilities for teaching purposes. Leveraging on the advanced facilities and equipment installed, the Fong Yun Wah Centre for Elderly Services was opened in 2013, with the aim of equipping students with professional elderly care skills and expertise on the one hand, while revamping the sector s professional image on the other. These efforts are implemented to attract young talents to the elderly care industry and drive its sustained development. The Centre is equipped with an array of advanced equipment including multifunctional care training manikins, patient monitors with ECG and suction units to provide students with highly simulated training opportunities. Through the training, students could gain a comprehensive grasp of professional knowledge in elderly care and reinforce their confidence in joining the profession. Mrs Lorraine Pak, Head of the Department of Child Education and Community Services said: Training with computer-assisted human simulator in all nursing tasks, such as injection, stoma care and tube feeding, provides students with computerised feedback on their actual performances, so they can practise repeatedly till perfection. It also helps them develop an understanding of the actual work more quickly. Chow Kin Hang, a student pursuing a Higher Diploma in Social Services and Community Education, said: By using a bronchial tube simulation model, we could gain a graphic understanding of the breathing difficulties caused by bronchitis, so that we could tailor an appropriate care solution for the elderly individuals. The sophisticated and highly simulated environment for practical training not only helps us master the professional expertise required, but also improves our confidence in undertaking professional elderly care work in the future. We look forward to receiving more donations and support to further perfect and expand the Centre s facilities, in order to nurture more professional talents for this sector and take our professional care services to all levels of the community, said Lorraine. 11 { Road to Marathon } Road to Marathon is a programme to hone students perseverance and their spirit of moving forward through professional and systematic training for long-distance running. Since its launch two years ago, more than a thousand students have received the training in both classroom coaching and onsite instructions at the running track. Many students joined the various local marathon events for their first time. Mr Lau Ming Wai of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust which sponsored the programme, encouraged students to overcome difficulties with a positive attitude and face the myriad challenges in life with courage. He said: Whether it is a marathon or short-distance running, everybody is equal on the athletic track. Efforts and results are most often positively correlated. For student Wong Yat Fung, who had never run a marathon before, the training he underwent was especially grueling and made him thought of giving up more than once. But it was during such moments that the words of encouragement from his classmates rang in his ears: Run, keep running! Motivated to continue running, he gradually developed the strength of resilience and learnt how to set goals for himself, as he kept moving ahead. Though it was his first time to take part in a half marathon, he finished in 1 hour 25 minutes and 47 seconds and the outstanding performance won him a referral to run a marathon in Australia. Despite the outstanding results achieved, Wong did not rest on his laurels. Instead, he quietly set the next goal for himself. I truly respect and admire my coach and often call him teacher. I remember how I started out with no possibility of keeping pace with the coach. Hence, apart from the routine training, I put in extra effort every day to run 10 km, in the morning and at night. His hard work finally paid off. Wong could eventually keep up with his coach and earn the latter s praise. Since then, they have become friends, and often shared ideas on running. The training experience taught him to believe in himself, as though he has made a commitment. No matter what the challenges, I believe in myself and would never give up midway. 12 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 { Happy Duckie } VTC is committed to providing quality vocational education and training to nurture professionals required by various industries. To continue this legacy and ensure the benefits are passed on to the future generations, the Happy Duckie alumni programme has played an active role in raising donations for the VTC Student Development Foundation. As a part of the fundraising campaign, alumni are called upon to give back to their alma mater in support of the current students on their learning journey. Passing the torch Mr Madison Tang, an alumnus who studied at VTC s various member institutions for 11 years and was among the first batch of graduates of the Higher Certificate evening class, has since secured many professional qualifications as a registered engineer. Presently, he is the director of a waste treatment firm, and also chairman and adviser to a number of automobile and environmental bodies. Backed by his outstanding accomplishments, he decided to contribute back to his alma mater in different ways. Besides supporting Happy Duckie event, he also offers scholarship donations for IVE automotive engineering students. Furthermore, he has taught VTC evening classes for 27 years, through which he made a real difference to students lives.

13 In the past, I took a slow and painful process to find my career footing. Now I hope to pass my experiences and knowledge gained to the next generations to help youths to identify their career paths and avoid unnecessary detours. Madison said. Mr Felix Choi, a recipient of the annual Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong and the VTC Outstanding Alumni Award in 2012, graduated from the VTC Apprenticeship Training Scheme. After completing his apprenticeship training, he set up an industry mold manufacturing firm, utilising the industrial knowledge and skills he mastered. He also gave talks to VTC students and actively participated in VTC s organised industry events. Felix admitted that he has benefited most from the days of his education in VTC. When he heard about the Happy Duckie Programme, he threw his support behind it with no hesitation. I believe absolutely in the VTC education philosophy and system. Adding to this is the fact that I benefited from my training with VTC. Now that I am able to help more students and give my support, hoping that the culture of giving back will become more prevalent and enable more students to benefit. Pooling donations for a multiplied impact Happy Duckie activities included soliciting for donations by phone carried out by VTC students. This fund-raising campaign also created opportunities for exchange between them and the alumni. Lam Wan Yee, one of the students involved, received a thank-you card following a donation phone call she made, which left her feeling encouraged and inspired. Many of our alumni not only donated generously, but they were also genuinely concerned with our studies and offered us the encouragement we needed to study hard. After I graduate, I will give back in a similar way. Even though the sums collected might appear modest at times, donations as low as a hundred dollars could add up to a substantial amount to provide assistance for the many needy students, she said. 14 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 Into the Future In pursuit of quality and excellence in vocational education, VTC has undertaken various new campus infrastructure projects and student development initiatives, your steadfast support can heighten student excellence. Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) Chai Wan Campus Vocational niche degree programmes for work-ready graduates THEi is a VTC member institution, recently established to offer vocationally-oriented degree programmes with industry attachments in its Faculties of Design, Management and Hospitality, and Science and Technology. Its new campus in Chai Wan due for completion in 2016/17 is housed in a twin-tower building that provides a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Among its distinctive features is a spacious common room on the first floor to encourage exchange of innovative ideas and inspiring discussions among students of diverse academic interests. Another highlight is a large greenhouse, which not only establishes the institute s ecofriendly credentials, but also offers hands-on learning opportunities for the horticulture and landscape management programmes. The new campus, will occupy a gross floor area of approximately 39,700 square metres. Donations will be used to support the building s improvement, provide scholarships and back the implementation of learning, teaching and research initiatives at THEi.

15 International Culinary Institute (ICI) Nurturing internationalised culinary talents VTC seeks to create a continuous supply of qualified talents to support the sustained growth of the hospitality and tourism sectors in Hong Kong and its neighbouring region. ICI, a culinary institute complementary to the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute, has been established to provide students with a culinary arts education incorporating East and West, where the diverse cooking and catering techniques of Europe, Mediterranean, South America, the Middle East and Asia are taught. Located in its Pokfulam campus, the institute s six-storey complex is equipped with a comprehensive array of on-campus facilities, including training kitchens, food and beverage/mice training workshops, tiered demonstration kitchen, food and science laboratory and research kitchen. Due for completion in 2016/17, the new complex will cover a gross floor area of 11,047 square metres, enabling ICI to provide education programmes for some 2,000 students every year. Funding from our donors will provide scholarships, a state-of-the-art learning environment, and other development initiatives to augment our students international exposure and introduce them to global culinary excellence.

16 Student Development Foundation Report 2015 Overseas Student Exchanges Developing global citizens of the future Our overseas exchange programmes provide VTC students with a holistic education by exposing them to new skills, global mindsets and perspectives, along with a better understanding of the culture and lifestyle in other countries. Among them are study projects on trade-specific topics, attachments, cultural trips and semester studies carried out at VTC s partner institutions in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, the UK, Europe and mainland China. These international learning experiences bring lifelong benefit to students development. Their language skills and learning agility will also be enhanced. International Competitions Exposure to best practices and world-class skills performance VTC students are encouraged to take part in competitions worldwide. These events provide them with abundant opportunities to challenge themselves and benchmark their skills in pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, our young people can learn from international best practices, stretch their abilities to the limit and develop resilience through such experiences. Due to resource constraints, only a limited number of candidates are currently offered the privilege of gaining overseas exposure. It is our target to provide all our students with at least one overseas exchange experience during their tenures with us. Your support and donations will enable more students to benefit from our exchange programmes, aimed at nurturing them into global citizens of the future. Since 1997, VTC students have become an indispensable part of the Hong Kong team participating in the bi-annual WorldSkills Competition, also known as the Skill Olympics, the world s biggest vocational education and skills excellence event, that brings together contestants from 60 countries and regions to compete in a multitude of skill areas. To date, we have garnered two Golds, one Silver, four Bronzes and 39 Medallions for Excellence from the event. Sponsorships from our donors will enable more students to travel abroad and compete in the key international competitions and coach our young people for excellence at the prestigious events.

17 Youth Engagement and Development Transforming passions into career skills Personal interest is a driving force that can turn learning into a passion. Enabling our youths to discover their interests, strengths and aptitudes early will facilitate them to formulate and develop their life goals into a profession. Aligned with the Chief Executive s recent Policy Address, which highlights the need for enhancing youth education and support for life planning, VTC plans to line up a series of career planning programmes to acquaint students with the diversified education and job opportunities available. Under this initiative, we will provide individualised career and personal development guidance, together with career taster events, to help them address their personal development and lifelong career progression needs. Sponsorships and partnership opportunities provided by our donors will make a positive difference in transforming our youths today into professionals of tomorrow. Partnership with Industry Work-integrated learning to increase students employability VTC works closely with industry to develop curricula attuned to the evolving needs of employers. Apart from this, we are also grateful to the many companies who have provided workplace learning experiences and scholarships for our students. While the internship programmes benefit the participants with valuable pre-employment experience, scholarships offer our students the recognition and financial support in their quest for excellence. These contributions are vital to our efforts to pass on skills, knowledge and expertise to the next generations and maintain a sustainable pipeline of young talents to support the manpower needs of industry and their continuous growth.
