Evaluation* Describe your strategy for tracking the outcomes of this grant. Be specific about the desired outcomes you anticipate seeing. Using the Basic Reading Inventory diagnostic tool, CDF hires an independent evaluator to conduct a pretest during the first week of the program to determine students reading level. During the last week of the program the evaluator conducts a post-test to determine any gains in reading grade levels over the duration of the program. The evaluator also conducts a pre and post climate survey to estimate the impact of the program on non-cognitive skills such as, attitudes toward school and education, positive ethnic identity, and social problem solving skills. The results are provided directly to CDF who provides a final report to each participating site. The report in its entirety is provided to funders. The cost associated with testing is included in the cost paid to CDF by sponsors. ABCLC has in the past shown an average of up to a grade and half increase in reading levels of participants and expects to show on average at least a 12 month increase in reading levels.
