Monday, September 4, 2018 OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT 6 7:30 p.m. Wrestling? Anyone not playing a fall sport interested in coming out for wrestling needs to meet right after school in the wrestling room on Thursday, September 6. You will receive paperwork that needs to be filled out before you can start pre-season practice. This is a mandatory meeting if you are not playing a fall sport. Girls Who Code is a weekly club is for girls interested in learning Computer Science through simple online tutorials and building community through interactive activities. In 10 weeks, the girls will work together to build a project. The Attendance Office is now located in the Commons Area. The Attendance Office is the middle office along the brick wall. When you are coming in late to school or returning to school you will check in with the Attendance Office. Need extracurriculars to beef up your college application? Want to improve your SAT or ACT math score? Do you want to win competitions? Is your favorite class math? If you answered yes to any of these questions, join Lexington High School's Math Club to socialize, compete in local math competitions, and improve your mathematical knowledge. We meet every Wednesday after school in room F215. CLUB APPLICATIONS Completed club applications must be turned in to the Main Office no later than Wednesday, September 12. If you are starting a new club for this year or renewing a club from last year, you must complete a new application. Blank forms can be picked up in the Main Office. Lexington High School Detentions Detentions served during ILT/Lunch will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The following are the ILT/Lunch Detention times: 2 nd Block: 10:10 10:40 a.m. *Coach Williams will be in the Cafeteria at 10:05 a.m. to pick up students interested in Embedded ILT: 10:50 11:20 a.m. *Coach Williams will be in the Cafeteria at 10:45 a.m. to pick up students interested in Middle Block LTC Students: 11:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. *Coach Williams will be in the Cafeteria at 11:25 a.m. to pick up students interested in (**THIS IS ONLY FOR LTC 3 RD BLOCK STUDENTS) Middle Block: 12:02 12:32 p.m. *Coach Williams will be in the Cafeteria at 12:00 p.m. to pick up students interested in 3 rd Block: 1:28 1:58 p.m. *Coach Williams will be in the Cafeteria at 1:25 p.m. to pick up students interested in Notes: 1. The only students allowed to complete Lunch Detention are those students leaving the Cafeteria with Coach Williams. 2. Students assigned to mandatory ILT/Lab must complete ILT/Lab requirements before completing ILT/Lunch Detention.

MEET AT THE C-HALL ENTRANCE TO CAFETERIA There will be a mandatory meeting for all girls interested in playing basketball this season on Thursday, September 6 right after school in the new gym. If you have any questions or you cannot make the meeting see Coach Goodrich. If any new student to LHS is interested in the trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland for Spring Break 2019 a brief meeting will be held Tuesday September 4 (Open House night) at 7:30 p.m. in room E209. Students already signed up do NOT need to attend. This is the last opportunity anyone will have to sign up for this year's Spring Break trip. It is open to any LHS student. Any questions please email mwayt@lexington1.net. Homecoming T-shirts for Sale The Cheerleaders will be pre-selling Homecoming T-shirts during all lunches starting Tuesday, September 4. T-shirts will be $10. T-shirts will be delivered Wednesday, September 19 and should be worn on Friday, September 21 to school and to the game against Spring Valley. Homecoming will be a Wildcat "White Out" game! Model UN will host its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 5 @3:30 p.m. in room E209. This is an informational meeting to learn what Model UN is all about and meet the officers. All new members and previous members are encouraged to attend. Any question email mwayt@lexington1.net.

Do you like to fish? Then come join the Lexington HS bass Fishing club at our first meeting of the year on Thursday, September 6 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Little Theater. We participate in several local tournaments on Lake Murray, as well as, several highly competitive travel tournaments across the state. LTC FBLA will have the 1 st meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 18. Meet in LTC Room #210 (Mr. Scott s Room) after school or stop by anytime with questions you may have. Any LHS students who would like to join the Lexington Technology Center DECA chapter should stop by Mrs. Dunovant's room (LTC 317) to pick up information. The deadline to join is Friday, September 14. LTC DECA wants you!

College Fair 2018 Lexington High School Counseling will offer a College Fair (a.k.a. Ed-Op, Educational Opportunities Day), which will be held on Tuesday, September 11 from 6:30 8:30 p.m. This fair is open to all students and their parents, and will be held in the LHS Cafeteria. Approximately 65 colleges, universities, and career schools will be on hand to discuss opportunities available on their campuses. Students and parents are asked to park in either the Main Office side parking lot, the gym lot, LTC, or the bus parking lot next to Old Farm Road, as the FRONT PARKING LOT FACING HWY 1 (the lot accessible to Old Farm Rd), IS RESERVED FOR PARKING FOR THE VISITING REPRESENTATIVES. Parking on Campus You will not be allowed to park on campus until you have completed the Alive@ 25 program, submitted random drug testing paperwork, and purchased a parking pass. You only need to complete the random

drug testing paperwork one time in your four years at LHS. If you need to take Alive @ 25 there are classes offered throughout the school year.
