Increasingly, there is a trend toward using technology to implement some of these methods, including self-exclusion and self-limitation, and ways to identify underage patrons. For the first time in the U.S., regulators are beginning to embrace technology in order to tackle responsible gaming via a play management system. 1:30 p.m. 4:45 p.m. Concurrent Workshops Workshop 1: Risks Associated with Replacing Your Core Gaming Systems Melrose 4 Gregory Doucette, Managing Director QA & PS, GLI Kelly Black, Director of SQAT, GLI Continuous planning, execution excellence, strong governance and robust change management are among the requirements for successful core gaming systems replacements, which is a top priority within business today and is expected to remain so with the rapid pace of technology evolution. Multi-year initiatives are time consuming and risky, requiring significant investment, key organizational resources and senior management commitment. To meet the needs for cost containment, flexible new product design/rollout, speed to market, growth, improved customer engagement, streamlined business processes, increased service quality and regulatory changes, you need to utilize best-of-breed methodologies for implementing a core gaming systems replacement program. Join GLI experts as we explore the best practice P3 Methodology, designed for the delivery of critical projects required for the replacement of critical core systems. We will explore complete governance, planning, execution, control and monitoring structures for your projects, enabling you to fulfill your business requirements on time and on budget while achieving business objectives. 2:15 p.m. 2:30 p.m. Refreshment Break and Networking Opportunities 2:30 p.m. 4:00 p.m. What is the Call for Fantasy Sports? Moderator: Kevin Mullally, Vice President of Government Relations and General Counsel, GLI Senator Mark Lipparelli, State of Nevada Honorable Mark Brnovich, Arizona Attorney General Victor Rocha, Owner and Editor, Pechanga.net Stephen Martino, Partner, Duane Morris LLP Chris Grove, Partner, Narus Advisors & Senior Consultant, Eilers & Krejcik Gaming Fantasy sports games, and in particular, Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), have experienced rapid and dramatic growth in the past few years. Their popularity has been accompanied by increasing interest from policy makers, regulators and entertainment industry competitors. Some question the legality of certain aspects of DFS while others are calling for a regulatory structure to better protect consumers. This activity is causing most DFS operators to adopt more rigorous consumer protection practices. At the same time, various jurisdictions are debating whether to ban the activity; impose consumer protection regulations or bring it under the umbrella of gaming regulation. An additional concern is whether the activity violates exclusivity provisions of certain tribal compacts. This session will discuss the legal and policy issues relating to this debate and provide a forum for informed panel discussion and audience questions on the complex issues that will be a focus of legislative, legal and regulatory activity in many jurisdictions in 2016 and beyond. Each jurisdiction is different and this session will provide valuable information to regulators and policy makers to help them make the right call for their situation. 4:00 p.m. Closing Comments Paul Magno, Executive Vice President, GLI 8
