Applicant Eligibility Applicant must be: IRS tax-exempt non-profit only Compliant with HCE Any previous OHA grant must be closed out in good standing Organizations may only receive one (1) Ahahui grant award in a single fiscal year 11
Event Eligibility Event must significantly benefit Native Hawaiians & provide positive recognition benefits to OHA Preferred Events: One-time, open, free & publicly announced Events Also Considered: For a select audience, include a fee and/or occurring over multiple dates under a single theme & occur over no more than 30 days within the round for which you are applying for 12
Ineligible Events Events not supported by the Ahahui Grant Program: Award/recognition events Building dedications or groundbreaking ceremonies Events outside the State of Hawai i Fundraisers or charity events Concerts Events occurring as part of regular programmatic services Sponsorship of individuals, teams, groups, etc. Travel subsidies to attend an event Church or religious events 13

Application Instructions Use the FY 2019 Ahahui Grant Program application via the online application system accessed through www.oha.org/grants. All applicants must first create an account within the online application system Fiscal sponsors are allowed. The fiscal sponsor must be the grant applicant and registered account holder. All sections and questions within the application must be addressed. If not applicable, indicate N/A. 18

Budget OHA FY 2019 Ahahui Budget Form Budget should be accurate and include a detailed breakdown for each item including information such as quantity, unit cost and purpose/justification (see sample budget attached to solicitation) Minimum match funding requirement: 10% of total project cost via cash and/or in-kind Provide Vendor Quotes, invoices and estimates where applicable Provide Letters of Funding Commitment for all sources of matching funds, both cash and in-kind 22

Additional Information Awards subject to the availability of funding. OHA reserves the right to offer partial awards and/or restrict funds from being used to support unallowable, inappropriate, or restricted expenses. Organizations applying for OHA funding support through other solicitations or programs may also apply for an Ahahui grant if the event is determined to be distinct and separate from any current or potential projects being funded by OHA. 29
