Algemeen General 2.1 Lees asseblief die Algemene Reëls asook die Spesiale Reëls by elke afdeling deeglik deur voordat u inskryf. Please read the General rules as well as the Special Rules for every division thoroughly before entering. 2.2 Vergewis uself asb. van al die Voorskrifte en Tydbeperkings soos uiteengesit in die Sillabus, voordat u inskryf. Please acquaint yourself with the Instructions and Time limits as prescribed in the Syllabus, before you enter.

2.3 Sodra u n deelnemer inskryf, word uself, die deelnemer en die deelnemer se ouers, daaraan verbind om op enige dag en te eniger tyd vanaf die aanvang van die gegewe afdeling, deel te neem. As soon as you enter a participant, you commit yourself, the participant and the parents of the participant to participate on any day and at any time after the specific division has commenced. 2.4 Voor die sluitingsdatum van elke afdeling, moet die SAMEROEPER van die betrokke afdeling, skriftelik in kennis gestel word van enige datums of tye van skool-, sport-, en ander aktiwiteite wat moontlik n invloed op die program mag hê. BEFORE the closing date of every division, the CONVENER of the particular division, should be informed in writing, of the dates and time of any school, sport or other activity that may have an influence on the programme. 2.5 Dié datums en tye sal sover moontlik in ag geneem word met die opstel van die program. Wherever possible these dates and times will be taken into account when planning the programme. 2.6 Oortreding van die reëls, mag lei tot diskwalifikasie. Affiliasie Affiliation 3.1 Alle skole, liggame, organisasies, afrigters, individuele organiseerders, kultuurliefhebbers en ouers wat belang stel om aan die Tzaneen Eisteddfod deel te neem, moet jaarliks affilieer. All Schools, bodies, organizations, coaches, individual organizers, lovers of culture and parents who wish to participate in the Tzaneen Eisteddfod, must affiliate annually. 3.2 n Aansoek om affiliasie sal slegs oorweeg word as die voorgeskrewe vorm (sien meegaande affiliasievorm) volledig ingevul is. Indien inligting ontbreek, sal die aansoek nie aanvaar word nie. Applications for affiliation will only be considered if the prescribed form is completed in full. (See form attached) Applications will not be accepted if information is incomplete. 3.3 Voltooide Affiliasievorms kan per e-pos gestuur word aan Melaine Botha na melaine@transletaba.co.za. Completed Affiliation forms may be returned by e-mail to Melaine Botha at melaine@transletaba.co.za. 3.4 Affiliasiefooie beloop R100 per afdeling - bv. indien u vir 5 afdelings affilieer, betaal u R500. affiliation fees amount to R100 per division. e.g. If you affiliate for 5 divisions you will pay R500. 3.5 Affiliasiefooie mag slegs elektronies(eft) oorgeplaas word - Geen kontant sal aanvaar word nie. Affiliation fees may only be transferred electronically (EFT). No cash will be accepted.

Affiliation forms will only be processed upon receipt of proof of payment. 3.8 Slegs geaffilieerde partye mag inskryf vir die Tzaneen Eisteddfod. Only affiliated parties may enroll for the Tzaneen Eisteddfod. 3.9 Geen individuele inskrywings sal aanvaar word nie! No individual entries will be accepted. 3.10 Daar sal slegs met geaffilieerde partye gekommunikeer word. Any communication will only be through the affiliated parties. 3.11 Elke geaffilieerde is daarvoor verantwoordelik om n elektroniese opsomming van hul inskrywings in excel spreiblad-formaat, BETYDS by Tzaneen Eisteddfod in te dien - u het slegs 24 uur grasie na elke afdeling se sluitingsdatum. You only have 24 hours of grace after each division s closing date. 3.12 Die geaffilieerde moet asseblief alle inligting rakende elke deelnemer en die item/items noukeurig kontroleer voordat die opsomming ingedien word. Before submitting the summary, the affiliate must please check all information relating to each participant and the item/items. 3.13 Die geaffilieerde sal verantwoordelik gehou word vir enige foute/ontbrekende inligting wat aan die sameroeper deurgegee is. The affiliate will be held responsible for any mistakes/ incomplete information submitted to the convener. 3.14 Elke geaffilieerde is verantwoordelik om n elektroniese opsomming van hul inskrywingsgelde in excel spreiblad-formaat, saam met die inskrywings in te dien. Every affiliate is responsible for submitting an electronic summary of entry fees in excel preadsheet format, along with the entries. 3.15 Die geaffilieerde mag slags EEN elektroniese oorplasing (EFT) maak vir al die inskrywingsgelde. Geen kontant sal aanvaar word nie. The affiliate may only make ONE EFT transfer for all their entry fees. No cash will be accepted. 4. Inskrywings Entries 4.1 Inskrywingsgelde: Entry fees: 4.1.1 Individuele inskrywings: R70 per deelnemer per item. Individual entries: R70 per participant per item. 4.1.2 Groep inskrywings: R50 per deelnemer (2-4 deelnemers: duette, trio s en Kwartette) per item. Group entries: R50 per participant (2-4 participants: duets, trios and quartets) per item. 4.1.3 Grootgroep inskrywings: R20 per deelnemer (5 en meer deelnemers bv. tonele, kore, Spreekkore en ensembles) per item. Big group entries: R20 per participant (5 or more participants e.g. plays, choirs, choral verse and ensembles) per item. 4.1.4 Kunsinskrywings: R120 per inskrywing. Art entries: R120 per entry. 4.2 Inskrywingsvorms en inskrywingsgelde kan slegs ingehandig word by die geaffilieerde. Inskrywingsvorms kan ingedien word via faks, e-pos, WhatsApp, SMS of per hand afgelewer word aan die geaffilieerde. Entry forms and entry fees may only be submitted to affiliated party. Entry forms may be submitted via fax, e-mail, WhatsApp, text message or delivered by hand. 4.3 Geen laat inskrywings sal aanvaar word nie. No late entries will be accepted. 4.4 Volledige, korrekte inligting op die inskrywingsvorm is noodsaaklik. Complete and accurate information on the entry form is essential. 4.5 Vorms wat nie aan hierdie standaarde voldoen nie, sal nie aanvaar word nie. Entry formswill not be eccepted if they so not meet the the standards. 4.6 Die amptelike inskrywingsvorm moet ingevul word. The official entry form must be completed. 4.7 Inskrywings is nie oordraagbaar tussen deelnemers nie. GEEN verslag of sertifikaat sal uitgereik word aan n deelnemer wat hierdie reël oortree nie,. Entries are not transferable between participants. Any participant transgressing this rule will NOT receive a report or a certificate. 4.8 Geen inskrywingsgelde is terugbetaalbaar nie. Entry fees will not be refunded. 4.9 Inskrywings word slegs verwerk wanneer bewys van betaling ontvang is. Entries will only be processed on receipt of proof of payment. 4.10 Die skrif op die vorms moet asseblief duidelik leesbaar wees. (Slegs drukskrif) Handwriting on forms must be legible (PRINT only). 4.11 Name en Vanne moet korrek gespel wees om korrekte spelling op die sertifikate te verseker. Names and Surnames must be spelt correctly to ensure the correct spelling on the certificates. 4.12 Sertifikate word gedruk volgens die inligting op die inskrywingsvorm. Die afrigter moet alle

inligting rakende die deelnemer en die item kontroleer. Indien n sertifikaat oorgedruk moet word as gevolg van foutiewe inligting op die inskrywingsvorm, sal n penaliseringsfooi van R15 per sertifikaat gehef word. Certificates are printed according to the information on the entry form. It is therefore imperative that coaches verify all the relevant information. If a certificate has to be reprinted due to incorrect information submitted on the entry form, a penalty fee of R15 will be charged. 4.13 Vir groep- en grootgroep inskrywings moet die volgende inligting deurgegee word: For group and big group entries, the following information should be submitted: 4.14 NB! Al die name van deelnemers wat aan die item deelneem. Indien die name ontbreek sal slegs 1 sertifikaat aan die groep uitgereik word. All names of participants of the specific item. If names are not submitted, only one certificate will be issued to the group. Die NAAM van die groep/tema/spreekkoor/koor The NAME of the group/theme/choral verse/ensemble. Die NAAM van die item wat gelewer word. The TITLE of the item to be delivered. NB! NADAT DIE FINALE PROGRAM BESKIKBAAR IS, SAL GEEN VERANDERINGS TOEGELAAT WORD NIE. GEEN VERSKUIWING VAN ITEMS OF OMRUILING VAN ITEMS SAL TOEGELAAT WORD NIE! Slegs spelfoute sal gekorrigeer word. NB! AFTER THE PROGRAMME HAS BEEN FINALIZED, NO CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED. NO ITEMS WILL BE MOVED OR EXCHANGED! Only spelling mistakes will be corrected. 4.15 Leerlinge wat deur n ateljee/afrigter afgerig word, mag deur die betrokke ateljee óf skool ingeskryf word, maar nie deur albei nie. Die studio/afrigter/skool moet geaffilieer wees. Participants coached by a studio/private coach may be entered by either the studio/coach or their school, but not by both. Beperking op die aantal items per deelnemer per afdeling: Limitation of the number of items per participant per division 6.1 Kunsafdeling Art Division Slegs EEN inskrywing Only ONE entry. 6.2 Dansafdeling Dance Division n Maksimum van 3 individuele items, 2 kleingroep items (2-4 deelnemers: duette, trio s en Kwartette) en 2 grootgroep items (5 en meer deelnemers). A Maximum of 3 individual items, 2 small group items (2-4 participants: duets, trios and quartets) and 2 big group items (5 or more participants). Elke item moet in n ander dansstyl wees, veral met die individuele items. Each item must be performed in a different dance style. 6.3 Musiekafdeling - Instrumentaal Music Division Instrumental n Maksimum van 3 individuele items, 2 kleingroep items (2-4 deelnemers: duette, trio s en Kwartette) en 2 grootgroep items (5 en meer deelnemers). A Maximum of 3 individual items, 2 small group items (2-4 participants: duets, trios and quartets) and 2 big group items (5 or more participants). Elke item moet in n ander musiekstyl wees, veral as dieselfde instrument vir al die items gebruik word. Each item must be performed in a different music style especially when the same instrument is used. 6.4 Musiekafdeling - Vokaal Music Division Vocal

n Maksimum van 3 individuele items, 2 kleingroep items (2-4 deelnemers: duette, trio s en Kwartette) en 2 grootgroep items (5 en meer deelnemers). A Maximum of 3 individual items, 2 small group items (2-4 participants: duets, trios and quartets) and 2 big group items (5 or more participants). Twee van die individuele items moet elk in n ander genre/musiekstyl wees en een item moet onbegeleid (A capella) wees. Two of the individual items must each be in a different genre/ music style and one item must be unaccompanied (A Capella). Met groep items, moet elke item in n ander genre/musiekstyl wees. For group items, each item must be in a different music style. 6.5 Afrikaanse Spraak- en Drama-af afdeling Afrikaans Speech and Drama Division n Maksimum van 3 individuele items, 2 kleingroep items (2-4 deelnemers: duette, trio s en Kwartette), 2 grootgroep items (5 en meer deelnemers) en 3 onvoorbereide/impromptu items. A Maximum of 3 individual items, 2 small group items (2-4 participants: duets, trios and quartets), 2 big group items (5 or more participants) and 3 impromptu items. Elke item moet in n ander katagorie wees Each item must be performed in a different catagorie n Deelnemer mag slegs vir onvoorbereide/impromptu items inskryf indien hy/sy vir ten minste EEN individuele voorbereide item ingeskryf het. A participant may only participate in impromptu items if he/she has entered at least ONE individual item in a different category. 6.6 Engelse Spraak- en Drama-af afdeling English Speech and Drama Division n Maksimum van 3 individuele items, 2 kleingroep items (2-4 deelnemers: duette, trio s en Kwartette), 2 grootgroep items (5 en meer deelnemers) en 3 onvoorbereide/impromptu items. A Maximum of 3 individual items, 2 small group items (2-4 participants: duets, trios and quartets), 2 big group items (5 or more participants) and 3 impromptu items. Elke item moet in n ander katagorie wees Each item must be performed in a different catagorie n Deelnemer mag slegs vir onvoorbereide/impromptu items inskryf indien hy/sy vir ten minste EEN individuele voorbereide item ingeskryf het. A participant may only participate in impromptu items if he/she has entered at least ONE individual item in a different category. 7. Deelname Participation 7.1 Wees gereed om enige dag en te eniger tyd vanaf die aanvang van die betrokke afdeling deel te neem. A participant and accompanist(where applicable) must be available at least 15 minutes before the time indicated on the programme to participate/prepare the work station/warm up the voice/ set the instrument. 7.5 Deelnemers en/of begeleiers wat laat opdaag vir die betrokke item, verbeur hulle reg om op te tree. Fooie is nie terugbetaalbaar nie. Participants and/or accompanists arriving late for any item, forfeit the right to perform. Fees will not be refunded. 7.6 Deelname buite die aangeduide sessie-tyd sal nie toegelaat word nie. Participation outside the designated session time will not be allowed. 7.7 Tydbeperkings soos uiteengesit in die Sillabus mag onder GEEN omstandighede oorskry word nie. Time limits as set out in the syllabus may under no circumstances be exceeded. 7.8 Die beoordelaar mag deelnemers, wat die voorgeskrewe tyd met meer as 30 sekondes oorskry, vra om die verhoog te verlaat. Deelnemers sal nie gepenaliseer word nie. The adjudicator may ask any participant who exceeds the time limit for more than 30 seconds, to leave the stage. Although we try our utmost to keep to the time schedule, participants, parents and coaches will have to accept that the programme may be subject to time fluctuation. 7.11 n Deelnemer mag nie dieselfde werk (prosa/poësie/musiekstuk, ens) in meer as EEN kategorie van n afdeling gebruik nie. A participant may not use the same piece of work (prose/ poem/music, etc.) in more than ONE category of a division. 7.12 n Deelnemer mag net aan EEN individuele item en EEN groep item in die selfde kategorie, deelneem. A participant may only participate in ONE individual item and ONE group item in the same category. 7.13 Geen deelnemer mag in twee agtereenvolgende jare dieselfde werk lewer nie. No participant may use the same piece of work in two consecutive years.

8. Beoordeling Adjudication 8.1 Die beslissing van die beoordelaar is finaal en geen bespreking of korrespondensie in dié verband sal toegelaat word nie. The adjudicator s decision is final and no discussion or correspondence on the issue will be allowed. 8.2 Geen video-opname mag van die beoordelaar gemaak word terwyl hy/sy verslag(repliek) lewer nie. No video recording may be made while the adjudicator delivers his/her report summary. 8.3 Deelnemers/familielede/afrigters/ toeskouers mag op GEEN WYSE met die beoordelaar kommunikeer voor, tydens of direk na beoordeling nie. Participants/family members/ teachers are prohibited from communicating with the adjudicator IN ANY WAY before, during or immediately after adjudication. 8.4 Geen probleme sal by die beoordelaarstafel hanteer word nie. Probleme moet skriftelik met die sameroeper uitgeklaar word. NO complaints or problems will be dealt with at the adjudicator s table. All complaints must be submitted to the organizer in writing. 8.5 n Beoordelaarsverslag/repliekvorm asook 'n sertifikaat sal direk na afloop van die sessie aan elke deelnemer oorhandig word. With the permission of the Eisteddfod committee, the sound engineer has the right to silence the music when the prescribed maximum time is exceeded. 8.9 Dit is die voorreg van die die beoordelaar van elke afdeling om items vir die Gala-aand aan te wys. Taalgebruik Use of Language 10.1 Geen onwelvoeglike taalgebruik sal by enige item in alle afdelings, geduld word nie en mag lei tot diskwalifikasie. Use of inappropriate language will not be tolerated in any item in any division and may result in disqualification. 10.2 Geen sensitiewe, politieke of godslasterlike teks sal toegelaat word nie. Participants supply their own medium e.g. pencils, sharpener and eraser/ paint, paint brushes and water container/ pastels and cleaning materials. Dansafdeling Dance Division 12.2.1 n Klanksisteem word verskaf. A Sound System will be provided. 12.2.2 Daar is ruimte agter die verhoog waar deelnemers kan opwarm voor hulle items. Quitars) or warm up voice before the start of their session. There is no time for this when the item must commence. 12.3.6 Geen deelnemer mag binne-in die saal sy instrumte instel/of stemme opwarm nie! Dit is steurend vir die deelnemers wat optree. No participant may tune his/her instrument or warm up their voice inside the hall. It causes a disturbance for participants who are busy with their own performance. 12.4 Afrikaanse Spraak- en Drama-af afdeling Afrikaans Speech and Drama Division 12.4.1 Slegs dramarostrums en koorbanke word op die verhoog voorsien. Only drama rostrums and choir stalls will be provided on stage. 12.4.2 Dekor en rostrums mag slegs in die aangewese stoorruimte gelaat word en mag nie toegang tot die verhoogruimte belemmer of die lokaal beskadig nie. Die Gala-aand word verdeel in n Junior afdeling (Voorskools en Gr 1 3) tussen 17:30 en 18:30 en n Senior afdeling (Gr 4 12) vanaf 19:00, om die kleiner kinders se aande korter te maak. Verhoogitems sal slegs tydens die senior afdeling aangebied word. The gala evening will be divided into a junior division (Preschoolers and Grade 1-3), between 17:30 and 18:30 and a senior division (Grades 4-12) starting at 19:00. This decision was taken to shorten the evening for the smaller children. Items will only be performed during the senior division. Musiekafdeling - Vokaal Music Division - Vocal 14.4.3 Musiek Deelnemers moes 3 vokale items in 3 verskillende génres gelewer het, waarvan een onbegeleid (a capella) moes wees. Rules that apply at the start of participation in each division: 16.1 Niemand mag tydens n deelnemer se optrede die saal binnegaan of verlaat nie. Nobody may enter or depart from the hall during the performance of a participant. 16.2 Die beweging is steurend vir die deelnemers èn die beoordeelaar en kan die herhaling van n item meebring. Movement is disturbing for both the participant and the adjudicator and may result in the repeat of an item. 16.3 Enigeen mag alleenlik tussen optredes so vinnig moontlik die saal binnegaan of verlaat. Only between items anyone may leave or enter the hall. 16.4 Selfone moet afgeskakel word voor u die saal binnegaan. Skuldige partye sal R500 beboet word. Cell phones must be turned off before entering the hall. Guilty parties will be fined R500. 16.5 Daar moet algehele stilte heers wanneer n deelnemer besig is met sy/haar optrede. Absolute silence must be maintained during any performance of a participant. 16.6 Indien die klok lui/selfoon lui/oor die interkom gepraat word/eksterne steuring plaasvind - moet die deelnemer wag totdat dit weer stil is. Die deelnemer kan dan voortgaan met haar/sy optrede of sy/hy mag weer van voor af begin indien dit so verkies word. Should a bell or cell phone ring/ somebody speaks over the intercom or any external disturbance occurs, the participant must wait for silence. The participant may continue or may restart if he/she so chooses. 16.7 Alhoewel die neem van foto s en video s van deelnemers toegelaat word, mag niemand tydens n optrede in die saal rondbeweeg nie. Die klank van die apparaat moet heeltemal afgeskakel wees. Although taking photos or video s of participants are allowed, nobody may move around during a performance. The sound of the apparatus must be switched off. 16.8 Geen video-opname mag van die beoordelaar gemaak word terwyl hy/sy repliek lewer nie. No video recording may be made while the adjudicator is giving a report. 16.9 Deelnemers/familielede/afrigters/ toeskouers mag op GEEN WYSE met die beoordelaar kommunikeer voor, tydens of direk na beoordeling nie. Participants/family members/coaches/members of the audience may not enter into any communication with the adjudicator before, during or directly after the adjudication. 16.10 As die werk na die beoordelaar se mening sub-standaard is, of n deelnemer in die verkeerde kategorie deelneem, mag hy/sy weier om enige simbool toe te ken. If the adjudicator considers the performance to be sub-standard or that the participant is participating in the incorrect category, he/she may refrain from awarding a symbol. 16.11 Geen probleme sal by die beoordelaarstafel hanteer word nie. Probleme moet skriftelik met die sameroeper uitgeklaar word. NO complaints or problems will be dealt with at the adjudicator s table. All complaints must be submitted to the convenor in writing.
