President s Message (Continued from Page One) Our Event Director Jerry Yahiro is working with a representative from each of the other VSOs at the VMB in putting together a joint Community Veteran s Day Program to be held Monday - Nov. 12th at the SRVHS Performing Arts Center beginning at 10:30 AM. Please share this information & pass the word to neighbors & friends of both events. Veteran s Day Weekend is November 10 th thru 12 th & will be the Veteran Memorial Building Veterans Day OPEN HOUSE weekend. This year the VMB is commemorating 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I. The 3-day exhibit will also honor all veterans serving other than wartime, on humanitarian missions in addition to displays on the 50th Anniversary of Vietnam s Tet Offensive in 1968. If you have anything the VMB Museum committee can use for display for any of these three areas - please contact any these members who serve on the VMB/LHCC, Tim Sammons - Bob Sada or Dennis Giacovelli. Also, if you know of anyone who has items to display encourage them to contact our committee members at the VMB. I did not forget December and our Annual Christmas Holiday Appreciation & Recognition Dinner at Crow Canyon Country Club on our regular 1st Thursday dinner night - Dec. 6th. This is the one VNVDV dinner you MUST make reservations. Please confirm attendance with Slatts ASAP. In addition to making Christmas dinner reservations and selecting what you desire to eat & how many guests you are bringing The holiday is also the time of year our members go all out in supporting our active duty military families identified by their command to attend Operation Santa Claus. This year to help make it easier on Santa & hopefully you... Santa asks a favor if you would, instead of Toys - bring monetary Gift Cards - or just a donation check to VNVDV and you can right it off and Santa will do the shopping for you!
