General Information Continuing Education Credits: A total of 4.0 CEU credit hours will be applied for through the NC Board of Nursing Home Administrators and through the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulations - Adult Care Home Continuing Education Program. An additional 1.5 CEU credit hours for Nursing Home Administrators will available for those attending the postsymposium general sessions. 4.0 CNE Contact Hours. Its presence can be an indicator of imminent death. This presentation addresses recognition and documentation of a KTU along with appropriate treatment of this unique wound. 1. Describe the unique characteristics of a Kennedy Terminal Ulcer versus a normal pressure wound. 2. The audience gets to participate with a discussion as to why these errors occurred and suggestions are made as to the systems or preventive measures that could/should be put into place to avoid these errors in the future. What is grief, its symptoms and how you, as a worker, are affected? As a health care provider, you will experience cumulative loss and grief. In this session, we will define grief and the factors that influence your grief process. We will look at how individuals grieve differently and explore ideas for healing grief in the workplace. In addition, we will look at ways to have balance in your life. Take this opportunity to learn that we grieve too---and what can help. 1. Define loss and grief specific to the role of the healthcare provider. 2. Recognize symptoms of grief. 3. Identify support systems. Throughout this presentation we will take an interactive approach to explore many ways professionalism may be tainted, and ways you can improve the overall value of professionalism in your workplace. 1. Define professionalism as it applies to the workplace. 2. Recognize ways staff play a role in creating an unprofessional image. 3.
