Members Present: Bowerman, Davis, Hall, Kapenga, Sneden, Tuttle Administrators Present: Akins, Briggs, Ceglarek, Decker, Feenstra, Smith President Hall called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Student Council Update Jacob Hooper, Junior, reported that the Student Council welcomed 8 th grade students who will be serving on the council at the end of the school year. Their last event of the year was the Academic Rally, which was a huge success. Teaching and Learning Feature Joy Essenburg and computer applications class students Will Harper, Garrin Szukalowski, Brandon VanSprange, and Gavin Zonyk demonstrated their Arduino kit projects. Ardunio is an open-source electronics prototyping platform intended for artist, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. Board Presentation Andy Tabisz, Lead Innovator for WorkSmart Database Masters, LLC, presented Joy Essenburg and her students a $500 check to purchase seven Ardunio kits. Invitation to Address the Board President Hall opened the floor to the audience. No one made a request. Board Minutes Motion by Tuttle, supported by Bowerman to accept the minutes of the May 11 regular meeting, the May 22 special meeting, and the May 22 work session as presented. Accounts Payable/Financial Report Patrick Briggs, Director of Business and Finance, presented the financial report as of May 31, 2017, which showed the general fund revenues of $50,396,163 and the expenditures of $54,084,650. Motion by Sneden, supported by Kapenga to accept the financial report as presented. Technology Bid Recommendations Motion by Bowerman, supported by Sneden to approve the following technology bids as presented by Jeff Smucker, Director of Technology: Electronic Door Lock Recommendation for Bauer, Georgetown, Jamestown Lower & Upper Progressive Hardware Suppliers, LLC - $32,274.00 Fiber Bid Replacement and Maintenance Recommendation Buist Electric - $30,888.00

Food Service Budget 2017-18 Stacey Wykoski, Food Service Director, presented the 2017-18 food service budget. This will come before the board for formal approval at the special meeting on June 26, 2018. Van Purchase Patrick Briggs, Director of Business and Finance, presented a recommendation on the purchase of one 2017 Chevrolet Express 2500 passenger van. This recommendation will come before the board at the June 26 special meeting. Board Minutes 5 Attachment #1 Bond Update Dr. Nick Ceglarek, Superintendent, shared photos of the progress on the Alward Elementary addition. Superintendent Report Dr. Nick Ceglarek, Superintendent, provided a report on the possible new changes to the Michigan Pension and Retirement System. He reported on the progress towards a recommendation to hire a new Alward Elementary Principal. The process will continue into the summer months. He congratulated the varsity girls water polo team for achieving the state title this spring.
