A better choice Enjoying a tasty meal with good company and conversation is one of life s simple pleasures, which is why we aim to create this daily experience for your residents. Our menus feature flavoursome home comforts, including traditional Sunday roasts and fish Fridays. This variety aids appetite appeal and boosts residents wellbeing. We have spent the past 50 years creating delicious meals that delight diners, and provide over 400 UK Care Homes with our specialist meals. What s more, we ve made the whole process of partnering with apetito as simple as possible, improving your catering experience, too. I love creating brand new dishes, but I also love improving the meals we already have. Being able to review our catalogue and thinking 'what can we do to make this better?' is the key. Phil Rimmer, apetito Head Chef

Delicious and dignified We start every new dish in our own Wiltshire kitchens, helping you serve meals that taste like you would cook at home. Our chefs prepare recipes alongside our dietician and nutritionist, ensuring your residents are enjoying the food they need. We even carry out regular resident and family tasting sessions to make sure of it. Only when a recipe is perfected will we provide it to you for your residents to enjoy.

"Keeping up-to-date nutritional and dietetic news is crucial, especially around challenging areas such as malnutrition and dysphagia. Helen Willis, apetito Dietician Meals that make their day Encouraging residents to eat a healthy plateful is vital for their health and well-being. We proudly support the Malnutrition Task Force and understand the challenges of encouraging residents to eat a healthy meal. That's why we've created a wide range of meal options that cover all tastes and specialist diet needs. Maximum nutrients Our food is frozen within an hour of cooking to lock in nutrition, freshness and flavour. This safeguards the nutritional value of the meal when served to your residents unlike chilled meals, which can deteriorate in nutrition over time. Total reassurance Our range of energy-dense meals keep residents nourished, getting them back up to full strength if needed. Eating well can even help prevent hospital visits. Expert insight Our in-house dietician, Helen Willis, is also a member of the British Dietetic Association. This ensures that all our meals meet the latest guidelines in nutrition, including criteria set by the most recent EU Nutrition and Health Claims legislations.

No doubt your home is full of wonderfully different people with a wide variety of tastes, especially when it comes to mealtimes. With a range of over 200 dishes, our menus cater for diets influenced by illness, culture, religion, ethical choice, or personal preference. apetito meals allow us to spend less time preparing meals and more time focusing on the dining experience, which contributes to making every day well-lived for residents; something that s really important to us. Ed Russell, WCS Care's Director of Innovation and Delivery For all to enjoy Something for everyone Our team of chefs add to our menus all the time, helping to prevent menu fatigue. Our selection of food is available to every resident, whatever their taste or needs. Texture Modified Special Diets Allergens Our award-winning Texture Modified range allows residents with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) to enjoy their meal and dine with dignity. We can provide meals to support special dietary requirements, without compromising on taste. These include: Diabetic Energy dense Low fat Our delicious meals can be tailored for residents with specific dietary considerations and intolerances, such as: Gluten Free Milk Free Egg Free

Fresh and flavourful And we don't just stop at menus... We have worked with some of our customers to help them create their own in-house dining brand, whether that be for a restaurant, pub, café or bistro. To ensure mealtimes are always enjoyable for your residents, we provide restaurant-style menus to enhance the dining experience, as well as picture menus to support people with dementia. We also regularly review our range to keep it fresh and filled with choice. Example of a daily menu: Menu MAINS Premium Roast Beef in Gravy (GF) Tender steam roasted beef in a rich gravy Lamb, Potato & Tomato Curry (GF) Delicious pieces of lamb, cooked in mild spices with coconut, tomatoes and potato Chicken Breast in Tomato & Basil Sauce (GF) Chunky chicken breast in a creamy tomato & basil sauce Bean Chilli (GF, VV) A mixture of beans simmered in a tomato and chilli sauce VEGETABLES Dauphinoise potatoes Colcannon mash Mashed root vegetables Red cabbage with apple & port Vegetable rice DESSERTS Sticky Toffee Pudding Light vanilla and date sponge with a thick toffee sauce

An experience to enjoy Mealtimes are an event for residents to look forward to every day, offering a great opportunity to interact, laugh and learn with other diners. Food isn t just about nutrition, it connects people. It s all the little extras that make a big difference to your residents wellbeing. From aiding social interaction, to addressing the challenges of dementia around mealtimes, we work in close partnership with our customers to add our expertise to every mealtime experience. This helps us deliver a positive dining environment to the 400+ Care Homes and 15,000+ residents that enjoy our cuisine everyday. "Meal times are a focal point of the day for Care Home residents and the quality of the food served is an excellent indicator of the overall care provided. Residents also need properly prepared, nutritious meals that are appropriate to their condition and changing eating patterns. Care England is pleased to be working in partnership with apetito, a company that not only ticks all of these boxes but is constantly innovating and seeking to improve both the nutritional content of the food and the whole meal time experience. Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive, Care England

17 Care with a conscience What s good for your residents wellbeing is also good for our environment, thanks to our sustainable sourcing process. We re proud of our contribution to social responsibility. But we know that to be ready for tomorrow, we have to keep working hard. This ensures the best quality and cost for our customers. Additionally, our carefully selected worldwide suppliers, including those from Europe and the developing economies, operate within the Ethical Trading Initiatives. Sustainable living We are committed to our social responsibilities and have developed one of the country s most sustainable production and distribution systems: Our apples are grown at the award-winning Fourayes Farm in Kent a family business that s certified by the Organic Food Federation and BRC. 18 Taking care of everyone We had no concerns in choosing apetito as our catering provider as they are well established with an excellent reputation and specialise in providing nutritious, high quality meals that meet the CQC s nutritional standards. Nalin Joshi, Stanmore Residential Home Food safety and quality are as important to us as taste and appearance. We can help you create truly efficient and effective mealtimes. Meeting standards All our food meets Care Quality Commission (CQC) and National Association of Care Catering (NACC) standards for quality and safety. Easy online ordering Our easy to use, advanced online ordering system is a simple, quick and efficient process, reducing the need to duplicate work and the potential for errors. Nutridata and Nutritional Summary Our online system, Nutridata, provides all the information you need to plan menus and cater for every diet, featuring everything from nutritional, dietary and allergen detail, to meal cooking times. This information is also provided in your personalised Nutritional Summary folder for easy reference on the go. Both Nutridata and your Nutritional Summary enable you to accurately report on the calorie, protein and nutritional intake of your residents to the CQC. Less waste As our dishes are frozen to lock in the goodness and flavour, you can store food for longer, cooking what you need, when you need it. This reduces the wastage associated with cooking in house, or with short shelf life products that are cooked and chilled. Save on energy Our chefs do the bulk of the preparation in our kitchens, so you only need to heat and serve from yours. It s simple enough for any of your staff to do, but we ll provide all the training and support you need. More options We can provide multi-portion and individual complete meals, offering a greater meal choice for residents and more flexibility for you.
