Wichita Collegiate Get Ready for an EXCITING New Year at Wichita Collegiate! The 2017-2018 schedule for Back-to-School events and the first days of school are detailed in this document. You will see student orientations, meetings for parents, the Back-to- School Fair for parents, the New Family Orientations, the All-School Ice Cream Social, Spartan Night, and the First Days of School. Location: Lammers Innovation Lab Upper School 8:55 a.m. 3:20 p.m. Orientation for Freshmen and New Students in Grades 9 12 Freshmen and students new to Wichita Collegiate will meet at 8:55 a.m. in Galichia Auditorium in the Upper School. Students will spend the day following their schedules and will meet their teachers and advisers. Student leaders will meet with small groups to discuss school rules, school etiquette, academic success and school spirit. Mrs. Ramseyer and Mrs. King will talk about Dinner Theater, and Mr. Ashbrook and Mr. Nesmith will spend time sharing the keys to success at the Upper School. Great Beginnings Great Beginnings students will receive a letter in August designating the parent/student orientation session for which they are scheduled. During this hour, students will begin to get to know their classmates and teacher, so they should plan to stay for the entire time. Students may elect to bring their classroom supplies on this day. A supply list for Lower School is included in the Back-to-School e-mail. If you ordered prepackaged school supplies from CAP, they will be in your child s classroom. Middle School (Grade 5) 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Fifth Grade students should report to their advising group room at 8:00 a.m. (Advisors will be sending postcards to their advisees shortly.) During this time, students will receive their ipads, locker assignments, and class schedules and become established as an advising group. Students should bring their classroom supplies on this day. A supply list is included in the Middle School section of the Back-To- School e-mail. If you ordered prepackaged school supplies from CAP, they will be in your child s advisor s classroom. Back-to-school class parties will occur later that day.
