Students Glenda Landcaster I was a displaced woman, recently divorced, and in my 40s, I had a high school diploma and had never worked outside the home. Began taking classes at TJC Graduated from the TJC Surgical Technology Program in 2015 Now works as a Surgical Technologist in labor and delivery at East Texas Medical Center TJC prepared me, through the loving instruction of two brilliant women, (TJC professors) Sherry Seaton and Brenda Korich. They didn t slack on anything. They were tough at times, but they were so supportive in how they prepared us. They instilled a desire not just to learn the skills but to master them.
Students Chase King Graduated from TJC s Wellness and Exercise Program in May 2017 He is now a Certified Personal Trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine Is the first non-bs graduate to be employed at the ETMC Olympic Center in Tyler
Students Cody Coe graduated from the OTA Program in May, 2016. He passed his board examination and is now employed full time at the Tyler ETMC Inpatient Rehabilitation Department and loves his job. Rudi Segura enrolled in the OTA Program in August of 2014 and graduated in May, 2016. He came to the program after being recently married, earned his citizenship, spoke English as a second language and was very successful in the program. He is now fully employed as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in East Texas. Anna Boyett graduated from the RN program at TJC, passed her boards and is now working as a Registered Nurse at Texas Spine and Joint Hospital. She is also presently working on her BSN.
