Mission House Christian Transition House for Women Purpose of the Home: Create a transitional program for women as the third step of recovery (Step 1 - Foundation development in a Christian safe house; Step 2 - Long term (>= 6 month) Christian Rehabilitation; Step 3 - Transitional Support Residence) from drug and alcohol addiction. This program is available to women on an application and space available basis who have successfully completed a long term Christian rehabilitation program and want to continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while transitioning back into society. Goals of the Program: - provide a residential safe environment - provide spiritual training and guidance - provide career and vocational counseling - provide financial and stewardship training - provide counseling support for independent living Provide a Safe Environment for Residential Living: - No Tobacco products - No drugs or alcohol will be permitted in the home - No male visitors will be allowed on the premises - No R-rated movies Provide Spiritual Training and Guidance: - Mandatory attendance at a corporate meetings. These meetings will include but not be limited to a. Christian 12 step (Celebrate Recovery) meeting once per week b. Bible study with various teachers c. Christian movie/testimony d. Weekly church service e. Crown Ministries or equivalent Bible Study - Bible study Read and summarize two chapters a week Provide Career and Vocational Counseling a. Forsyth Tech b. Goodwill Career Center c. Vocational Rehab d. Workforce Development Centers Provide Financial and Stewardship Training: a. Initially, a sponsor for rent payments of $75 per week is acceptable b. After 8 weeks, $125 per week is required from earned income by resident with $25 per week to be put in reserve account for the resident. This reserve will be
distributed to the resident after successful completion of at least 26 weeks of program. Early departure for any reason forfeits the fund. c. Leadership will be available to assist the resident in finding work to cover the weekly expenses. d. Assistance in establishing a bank/credit union account e. Assistance in repairing credit worthiness Process For Acceptance: - Evidence of Christ s transforming work - Written Application - Personal or Telephone Interview - Signed Written Acceptance of Mission House Agreements Packet - Space availability Rules and Regulations 1. Attendance of at least 2 corporate meetings per week is required. These meetings include but are not limited to a. Christian 12 step meeting once a week b. Bible study with various teachers c. Christian movie/testimony d. Church services 2. Weekly personal Bible Study is required - Read and summarize two chapters per week 3. You are required to sign out when leaving the premises and sign in upon returning for the first 30 days of residence. 4. You must contact the house manager at least one time per week to discuss your progress. 5. You are required to be employed to meet rent requirements after a maximum of 8 weeks of sponsorship. 6. Types of employment not acceptable include but are not limited to bars, clubs, or establishments that sell alcohol. Questions should be taken to the house manager. 7. Rooms must be kept neat, with bed made at all times. 8. Daily and weekend chores will be assigned and are a mandatory part of your stay. 9. Any situation that requires police involvement must be reported to the house manager. 10. No one is allowed in another resident s room unless the resident is present and invites you in.
11. Clothes and personal property are not to be shared. Do not loan money, borrow vehicles, including bicycles. This applies to residents and staff. 12. You may be subject to a random drug test at any time. 13. Any resident who is aware of an infraction of the rules and does not notify the house manager immediately will be subject to dismissal. 14. All rooms are subject to inspection at any given time, and any room that does not pass inspection may cause all residents in that room to be dismissed. 15. Smoking or use of tobacco products is not permitted. 16. Any cooking done by residents requires immediate cleanup. 17. Any medical conditions and/or injuries must be brought to the attention of the house manager. In the event of an emergency, call 911 then notify the house manager immediately. All rules and regulations are subject to change at the discretion of the house manager. Causes for immediate dismissal include but are not limited to: - Being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs - Possession of alcohol and/or drugs - Possession of weapons - Verbal or physical threats or acts of violence - Property destruction or altering the physical construction of the property, including interior walls - Failure to submit to a drug test - Unaccountability or discrepancies in times when not on the premises - Falsifying information, stealing, unusual behavior, or criminal activity - Failure to comply with rules and/or staff directions - Rent in arrears over 5 weeks This is not a complete list of all possible rules and/or violations that may happen. To ensure a healthy, happy, drug and alcohol free environment please use common sense.
STAGES OF RESIDENCY STAGE 1 (Start 13 Weeks) 1. All residents of Mission House begin at Stage 1. 2. Visits are allowed from family with prior approval by the house manager. 3. Stage 1 residents must Sign Out/Sign In every time leaving and returning to the residency during the first 4 weeks. 4. The house curfew is Monday Thursday 10:00 pm and Friday Sunday 11:00 pm. 5. You will not move to Stage 2 unless all back rent is paid STAGE 2 (Weeks 14-26) 1. Residents must keep up with weekly meetings and employment. 2. Residents curfew will be Monday Thursday 10:00 pm and Friday Sunday 11:00 pm unless at your place of employment or with the house manager 3. Visitors are allowed with prior approval from the house manager. 4. Stage 2 residents will be eligible for Stage 3 after 26 weeks as long as the resident has been compliant to the program. All rent must be up to date. STAGE 3 (Weeks 27-52) 1. Residents must keep up with weekly meetings and employment. 2. Curfew will be the same as house curfew of Monday Thursday 10:00 pm and Friday Sunday 11:00 pm unless at employment or with house manager. 3. Stage 3 residents will also be eligible to stay away from the house for 2-3 nights two times in a thirty day period. You must have prior approval from the house manager. 4. Visits are allowed with prior approval from the house manager.
