WEST WINDSOR-PLAINSBORO HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH 346 Clarksville Road, PO Box 535 Princeton Junction, NJ 08550-0535 Phone: (609) 716-5050 FAX: (609) 716-5092 Charles D. Rudnick Principal May 20, 2010 Dear Senior Parents: We are looking forward to commencement exercises for the thirty-fifth graduating class of West Windsor- Plainsboro High School South. The ceremony will take place on Friday, June 18 th at 3:00 P.M. at the Sun National Bank Center. Graduation from high school comes only once in a person's lifetime. I have been impressed with the sincere efforts of the seniors to plan a ceremony that is steeped in tradition. Continuing a practice that began several years ago, our faculty will wear academic robes and degree colors, thus adding to the sense of dignity. It is my hope that all seniors will reflect this by refraining from actions such as balloon throwing and bubble blowing, which only serve to detract from the ceremony and to reflect negatively on the graduates. I ask you to discuss the meaning of graduation with your son or daughter, and to help him/her understand that parents, grandparents and friends expect a dignified celebration. Due to the additional seating available at The Sun National Bank Center, we are happy to announce that no tickets are required. Therefore, there is no limit on the number of guests. Appropriate dress will be required of all seniors participating in the graduation ceremony. Boys must wear a dress shirt, tie, long pants, socks and appropriate shoes. Girls must wear a dress or skirt and blouse or dress slacks and appropriate shoes. Platform shoes are discouraged. Graduates are not to wear shorts. Should medical or other reasons prohibit students from following these dress guidelines, the individual must discuss the problem with his/her assistant principal prior to June 4 th. Any senior not able or not wishing to participate in graduation must notify me in writing no later than Tuesday, June 1 st. Final examinations will begin on Tuesday, June 15 th. Seniors with a final grade average of "A" who also have an "A" average in the fourth marking period are exempt from the course final examination. On the reverse side of this letter, you will find a calendar of events regarding end of the year activities. Please keep it handy for reference. This information is also included on the website at ww-p.org. Also available on the website are directions to Sun National Bank Center, and order forms for the graduation video. Graduation videos can be ordered by June 14 through our PTSA for $25.00. Order forms for the video are also available in the main office. Thank you very much for your efforts in making your son s/daughter s graduation a truly enjoyable occasion. Sincerely, Charles D. Rudnick Principal
