Sponsorships & Partnerships Background & Proposal Guidelines 2018 As one of Australia s largest privately held financial services providers, La Trobe Financial is committed to investing in the advancement and well-being of the Australian community so we can all achieve financial independence. Our sponsorships and partnerships are an important part of the way we do business. They support and improve brand awareness and allow La Trobe Financial to support worthy causes and local communities. We only undertake activities where there is an opportunity to reach potential clients, to add value to existing clients, and/or to improve the financial independence and well-being of our clients. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, La Trobe Financial is not able to support all worthy causes that are presented to us. Due to the large volume of sponsorship applications we receive each year, we have developed a simple guide to assist you in providing us with the information we need to evaluate each sponsorship or partnership proposal. General Points Depending on the nature of the sponsorship and the various elements included in the sponsorship, we generally need a few months lead time prior to implementing the sponsorship. Brand exposure and naming rights are considered important features of a sponsorship opportunity. Sponsorships should have a natural link with healthy lifestyles and promoting general well-being. The sponsorship should target La Trobe Financial s key demographics, which are young singles and couples (aged 25-35 years), young families (aged 30-49 years), and/or retiree investors (aged 55-77 years). Brand exclusivity will be favourably considered (i.e. opportunities where La Trobe Financial would be the only financial services provider associated with the event/activity/program/sporting personality). Partnerships should provide an opportunity for La Trobe Financial clients and staff to be involved in events or activities associated with the partnership. La Trobe Financial Sponsorship Program La Trobe Financial Community Involvement Program La Trobe Financial s sponsorship program aims to enhance La Trobe Financial s brand presence at a national and regional level and support its overall marketing strategy. In addition to sponsorships and partnerships, La Trobe Financial also has a Community Involvement Program, which actively engages La Trobe Financial staff with people in need in the broader community. La Trobe Financial will consider sponsorships/partnerships that focus on financial independence and well-being at a national, state or regional level. La Trobe Financial will also consider sponsorships/partnerships that support regional or national charitable activities, which align the La Trobe Financial brand with a charitable cause (e.g. Salvation Army). La Trobe Financial will also consider individual personalities to endorse La Trobe Financial s brand, product or activities. The program encourages and supports staff to use their time, skills and resources, working in partnership with others, to positively impact on their local communities. At the same time community participants also enhance the culture of La Trobe Financial. Each staff member is given the opportunity to take two days a year off, on full pay, to work and provide assistance in community ventures/charities free of charge to the group. Sponsorships & Partnerships Background & Proposal Guidelines 2018 Essential Information to be included in Sponsorship Application To enable a complete evaluation of your sponsorship application, we require the following information: 1. Background Information/Overview Include details on the individual or organisation seeking the sponsorship. For organisations, details such as size of the organisation, history of the organisation, goals, key demographics, target audience, client base, location, industry, etc. Values of the organisation. Will the sponsorship have national exposure or will exposure be confined to a specific area, eg. State or region? Will there be any opportunities for La Trobe Financial to leverage with any other existing sponsorships/partnerships? For an individual, a brief personal history is also useful. 2. Contact Details Include the name, address and telephone number of the individual or organisation in whose name the application is made, including any ABN or ACN. Include the details of a person who can be contacted if there are any queries regarding the sponsorship. If the person managing the sponsorship is different from the contact person please, also include their details. 3. Other Sponsors/Partners Detail any other sponsors who will be involved with the opportunity presented to La Trobe Financial. What alternative levels of sponsorship participation are available (i.e. are all sponsors at the same level or will various sponsorship levels be available)? Detail whether La Trobe Financial would be the only financial services provider associated with the event/ activity/program, and if not, which other financial services providers are to be associated with the event/activity/ program. 4. Timing Details of when the sponsorship is due to commence and finish. List any key activities or milestones associated with the event. Please detail if it is a one-off event or whether it continues for a specific period of time. Details on key timings for leverage of the sponsorship. 5. Marketing Strategy Detail how your organisation intends to promote and advertise the event/activity/program. Who will you be targeting? Detail any media partners you have engaged to promote the event/activity/program? 6. Sponsorship Cost or Investment Detail what the actual cost of investing in the sponsorship is, and when sponsorship payments are due. Will the investment be all cash or will there be some sort of in-kind support or expertise too? 7. Sponsorship Entitlements Include a full list of sponsorship entitlements and benefits. These entitlements may include: - Naming rights - Access to a Direct Marketing database - Advertisements - Promotional material e.g. flyers, posters, member magazines - Logo placement where will La Trobe Financial s logo appear clothes/uniform, website, flyers, posters, member newsletters, vehicle, promotional items, banners, letterhead - Allocated signage space - Internet opportunities - Product sales opportunities - Event advertising - Corporate hospitality - Invitations to specific functions - Talent appearance - Sports clinics - Access to loyalty programs, etc. 8. Evaluation How will you measure and evaluate the success of the sponsorship? Will an independent company be employed to complete this appraisal? Sponsorships & Partnerships Background & Proposal Guidelines 2018 Process for Consideration of Applications All proposals are reviewed by the Head of Communications & PR to assess suitability, feasibility and resources required. Recommended proposals are presented to other stakeholders for approval. All successful sponsorships must have a Sponsorship Agreement executed by both parties. The contact who has submitted the proposal is notified of the outcome within 6 weeks of receipt of fully completed applications.
