EMT REFRESHER CLASS OROVILLE, SPRING 2009 Dear Prospective EMT Refresher Student: The start date for the upcoming EMT class is Monday, February 23, 2009. We will be conducting a concurrent EMT Refresher course. State of California requires every two years an EMT complete 24 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEU) or take an EMT Refresher Course (at least 24 hour in duration and pass a written final for the course). All EMT s must successfully pass a Practical (State of California Verification Form). Students are encouraged to attend all class sessions in the areas of their need. Applicants need to remit a money order or cashier s check for $150.00 + $25.00 (for the Oroville Adult Education Fee) for a total of $175.00*, made payable to Absolute Safety Training. Inc. *No personal checks will be accepted. EMT Refresher students must have a current EMT certification card and a current CPR-BLS card. The fee covers: Tuition 24 Hours of Continuing Education Units (CEU) Written Final Verification The fee does not cover: CPR National Registry Certification fees (if applicable) Nor-Cal EMS, Inc. Certification fees Uniform Requirements: Crew neck navy blue tee shirt during the EMT class Fire department-ambulance navy blue shirt with logo is okay Navy blue EMT/Fire Department uniform pants during the EMT class Alternate options for uniform pants are available Uniform requirements will be coved the first night of class; you will need to acquire them before the second class on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Recertification Options:
The price of the course includes everything that an EMT is required to recertify. The EMT taking the Refresher Course pays a flat fee for either: the CEU s, the Verification, or both. EMT s looking to recertify with NREMT will need additional specific CEU s, which may require more class hours.
