PowerS picks $10 Volume 5 Issue 3 June Issue 2017 BP Sports, LLC Powers Picks Star-Rated Plays in CFB/NFL 189-144-4 (57%) +$4950 Last 2 Years!!! Week 1 CFB Best Bets Pg 3, Season Win Total Best Bets Pg 5 Betting College Football in the Off-season = Best Value!!! 99-percent of the time, you won t hear us say that a particular line is off more than a TD. The reality is the books and the markets are just too good to be off a number that much in today s day and age. The exception to the rule comes in the very soft off-season markets where for the most part, it is a bookmaker/oddsmaker s line vs the handicappers/professional bettors own line. We often find great value in the spring and early summer in the college football betting markets because CFB is our specialty and we follow it on a year-round basis. While most oddsmakers/bookmakers are more focused on basketball and baseball this time of year (and rightly so), we re closely following college football spring practices, injury reports, transfers and suspensions while constantly tweaking our power ratings for the upcoming season. One of the major reasons why we made the move to Vegas last year was to take advantage of these soft markets and while there are no sure things in this industry, we can usually predict where the early money and where the lines are going to move this time of year. Often times, we can get way ahead of some major line moves (see our Notre Dame -6 over Temple MAX bet from the spring issue) which can leave the door open to some middle opportunities. For those of you that are not aware of how these early Week 1, Game of Year and season win total releases work, the bookmakers often limit the size of the bets to $500 or $1,000. They know full well that many of the bettors who stand in line to bet the openers are of the sharp variety. Remember, if you re not in line and betting these games and season win totals within minutes of the release, you re not going to come close to getting the opening lines and numbers. Only a handful of guys in the world are getting these numbers (we re fortunate to be one of them). It s a very soft market but becomes much sharper within minutes. One single limit bet can change a line a couple of points! And keep in mind, there s some significant money being dealt early. Many times $100,000 can be bet within the first hour or so! South Point Game of Year Lines Still Holding Value While there has already been some value lost in these GOY lines that were released at South Point on Memorial Day (see our MAX Bet to the right), these still remain some of the softest lines you ll see all year. Below is our remaining Top 7 plays on the board with relation to the current lines (June 11). In case you re wondering on the chart to the right, the BP Line is our early power ratings/computer line (subject to change in next couple of months). 1. 7023 Oregon -4 over Wyoming on September 16. 2. 7124 Oregon -6 over Oregon St on November 25. 3. 7054 Boise St -7 over Wyoming on October 21. 4. 7050 Florida St -6.5 over Louisville on October 21. 5. 7118 Nevada PK over UNLV on November 25. 6. 7012 Arkansas +5 over TCU on September 9. 7. 7099 Virginia Tech -6.5 over Virginia on November 24. 2017 CFB Games of the Year via South Point Open Current BP Line Saturday, September 9 7003 Auburn 7004 Clemson -7-6.5-7 7005 Pittsburgh 7006 Penn St -19-18 -17 7007 Iowa -2-1.5-1 7008 Iowa St 7009 Oklahoma 7010 Ohio St -8-7.5-8 7011 TCU -6-5 PK 7012 Arkansas 7013 Nebraska 7014 Oregon -4-6 -10.5 Saturday, September 16 7015 Clemson 7016 Louisville -2 PK +1.5 7017 Oklahoma St -4.5-4.5-3.5 7018 Pittsburgh 7019 Texas 7020 USC -12-11 -13 7021 Stanford -5-8 -9 7022 San Diego St 7023 Oregon -1-4 -13.5 7024 Wyoming 7025 Tennessee 7026 Florida -5-5.5-8 Saturday, September 23 7027 Notre Dame -4-4 -5.5 7028 Michigan St 7029 Arkansas 7030 Texas A&M -10-7 -2 Saturday, September 30 7031 Colorado 7032 UCLA -4-4.5-6 Friday, October 6 7033 Boise St 7034 BYU -6-6 -6 Saturday, October 7 7035 Michigan St 7036 Michigan -15-16.5-19.5 7037 Wisconsin -8-8 -8 7038 Nebraska 7039 Air Force 7040 Navy -15.5-11.5-14 7041 Alabama -10.5-10.5-12.5 7042 Texas A&M Saturday, October 14 7043 Oklahoma -8-7.5-8.5 7044 Texas (Dallas) 7045 Boise St 7046 San Diego St -6.5-4 -2 7047 Auburn 7048 LSU -4.5-4.5-5.5 Saturday, October 21 7049 Louisville 7050 Florida St -6.5-6.5-13.5 7051 USC -6.5-6.5-4.5 7052 Notre Dame 7053 Wyoming 7054 Boise St -7-7 -15 7055 Colorado -1 7056 Washington St -5-7 7057 Michigan 7058 Penn St -14-8 -7.5 Saturday, October 28 7059 Oklahoma St -5-4 -5 7060 West Virginia 7061 Penn St 7062 Ohio St -8.5-8.5-9.5 7063 UCLA 7064 Washington -15-15 -15.5 7065 Georgia -3-3 +1.5 7066 Florida (Jacksonville) 7067 Tennessee PK PK -2 7068 Kentucky Open Current BP Line Saturday, November 4 7069 Oklahoma -1-3 -2 7070 Oklahoma St 7071 Texas 7072 TCU -5-3.5-3 7073 Army -3-2 +1.5 7074 Air Force 7075 LSU 7076 Alabama -11-11 -13 7077 South Carolina 7078 Georgia -14-14 -13.5 Saturday, November 11 7079 Florida St 7080 Clemson -5-3.5-2.5 7081 Notre Dame 7082 Miami, FL -8-8 -6.5 7083 West Virginia 7084 Kansas St -7-7 -9.5 7085 Texas Tech 7086 Baylor -7-6.5-5.5 7087 Iowa 7088 Wisconsin -17-17 -17.5 Saturday, November 18 7089 Minnesota 7090 Northwestern -6-6 -7.5 7091 California 7092 Stanford -22-22 -21.5 7093 UCLA 7094 USC -13-13 -17.5 7095 Utah 7096 Washington -21-21 -18.5 Thursday, November 23 7097 Ole Miss 7098 Mississippi St -4-5 -3.5 Friday, November 24 7099 Virginia Tech -6-6.5-11.5 7100 Virginia 7101 Iowa 7102 Nebraska -3-2 -4 7103 Navy 7104 Houston -7-7 -7 Saturday, November 25 7105 Florida St -5-5 -3.5 7106 Florida 7107 Georgia -5-5 -2.5 7108 Georgia Tech 7109 Louisville -8.5-8.5-5.5 7110 Kentucky 7111 Ohio St -8-7 -2 7112 Michigan 7113 Wisconsin -10-10 -10 7114 Minnesota 7115 Notre Dame 7116 Stanford -11-10 -8 7117 UNLV 7118 Nevada PK PK -5.5 7119 Arizona 7120 Arizona St -10-8 -8 7121 Colorado -1 PK +3 7122 Utah 7123 Oregon St 7124 Oregon -2-6 -14 7125 Washington St 7126 Washington -20-16 -13.5 7127 Alabama -3.5-3.5-3 7128 Auburn 7129 Texas A&M 7130 LSU -12-12 -14.5 7131 Vanderbilt 7132 Tennessee -8.5-8.5-13.5 Saturday, December 9 7133 Army 7134 Navy -4-4 -6.5

There's several reasons for this as returning favorites are not only competing against others, but they also have to live up to their own stats and performances from previous year(s). It s a major reason why Ohio St RB Archie Griffin has been the only twotime Heisman winner in history. Last year, the first time we were on the ESPN Las Vegas show, we offered up Lamar Jackson as a Heisman sleeper at 100/1. Obviously, that worked out quite well, but it hasn t just been Lamar Jackson who has come out of nowhere to win the Heisman Trophy in recent years. In fact six of the last seven Heisman winners weren t even among top 8 favorites in the preseason. The only preseason top 3 favorite to win it in recent memory was Marcus Mariota in 2014 and in 2012 and 2013 Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston hadn t even played a down of college football yet, but still won the award!!! Here are two early long-shots and my reasons for betting them: Jarrett Stidham (QB Auburn) 50/1 First and foremost, a QB has taken home the award in 14 of the last 17 years while a RB has the other three years. Most of the time that QB has been on a national title contender and we believe Auburn is a contender this season. If you re not familiar with Stidham, he was a Top 5 QB recruit coming out of high school in 2015. He actually started three games at Baylor in 2015 as a true freshman before getting KO d for the season with an injury. In limited action his numbers were mighty impressive as he threw for 1,265 yards with a 69-percent completion rate and a 12-to-2 TD-to-INT ratio. Last year he transferred out of Baylor (sanctions) and played at a junior college. He took part in spring this year at Auburn and had a sensational spring game going 16 of 20 for 267 yards. While spring game stats can be very overrated, Stidham passed the eye test for me with flying colors as several of his throws were NFL-caliber. Gus Malzahn s offense is QB friendly when he has the right guy under center and Stidham is that guy (also has underrated mobility). Derwin James (DB Florida St) 100/1 James is flying under the radar because last season he was out for the year after only two games with a knee injury (had 11 tackles and an interception). James was a freshman All-American in 2015 notching 91 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss in only 8 starts. Flash forward to this spring and James just might be the most versatile player in college football this season as he has lined up at Cornerback/Safety/Linebacker/Punt Returner and has even been featured as an edge pass rusher. Former N.Y. Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, who was doing the broadcast of Florida St s spring game said this about James when comparing him to Jabrill Peppers of Michigan; No offense to Peppers but he (Peppers) only wished he was the player this kid (James) was. Ryan went on to say that James is a once in every 10-year type of talent/player. James certainly put on a show as he had 7 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks and was all over the field. Quite simply, if Peppers can get an invite to New York for the Heisman ceremony, I think James is perfectly capable as well, if not becoming the first defensive back to win it since Charles Woodson in 1997! 4 2017-18 College Football National Title Odds Via WestGate Las Vegas Superbook Open Current # Team 1/7 6/5 90701 Alabama 3/1 3/2 90702 Florida St 8/1 7/1 90703 Oklahoma 8/1 15/1 90704 Ohio St 8/1 4/1 90705 USC 8/1 7/1 90706 Louisville 10/1 25/1 90707 Michigan 12/1 15/1 90708 LSU 12/1 15/1 90709 Clemson 20/1 20/1 90710 Oklahoma St 20/1 40/1 90711 Texas 20/1 30/1 90712 Penn St 25/1 20/1 90713 Auburn 25/1 25/1 90714 Miami FL 30/1 80/1 90715 Kansas St 30/1 60/1 90716 Washington 30/1 30/1 90717 Georgia 30/1 25/1 90718 Virginia Tech 40/1 50/1 90719 Wisconsin 40/1 40/1 90720 Florida 40/1 50/1 90721 Tennessee 40/1 50/1 90722 West Virginia 50/1 60/1 90723 Notre Dame 60/1 40/1 90724 UCLA 60/1 60/1 90725 TCU 60/1 80/1 90726 Washington St 60/1 80/1 90727 Stanford 60/1 80/1 90728 Oregon 60/1 80/1 90729 Colorado 60/1 100/1 OFF Ole Miss 80/1 OFF 90731 NC State 100/1 200/1 90732 North Carolina 100/1 300/1 90733 Georgia Tech 100/1 200/1 90734 Michigan St 100/1 100/1 90735 Nebraska 100/1 100/1 90736 Minnesota 100/1 300/1 90737 Northwestern 100/1 300/1 90738 Boise St 100/1 100/1 90739 Utah 100/1 200/1 90740 Texas A&M 100/1 100/1 90741 Iowa 200/1 300/1 90742 Arizona St 200/1 300/1 90743 Arkansas 200/1 300/1 90744 Mississippi St 200/1 300/1 90745 South Florida 300/1 500/1 Open Current # Team 1/7 6/5 90746 Wake Forest 300/1 500/1 90747 Syracuse 300/1 500/1 90748 Pittsburgh 300/1 300/1 90749 Texas Tech 300/1 500/1 90750 Baylor 300/1 300/1 90751 Indiana 300/1 500/1 90752 Maryland 300/1 500/1 90753 BYU 300/1 300/1 90754 Kentucky 300/1 500/1 90755 South Carolina 300/1 300/1 90756 Houston 500/1 500/1 90757 SMU 500/1 500/1 90758 Boston College 500/1 500/1 90759 Virginia 500/1 500/1 90760 Duke 500/1 500/1 90761 Iowa St 500/1 500/1 90762 California 500/1 500/1 90763 Oregon St 500/1 500/1 90764 Arizona 500/1 500/1 90765 Vanderbilt 500/1 500/1 90766 Temple 1000/1 1000/1 90767 Central Florida 1000/1 1000/1 90768 Cincinnati 1000/1 1000/1 90769 Navy 1000/1 1000/1 90770 Tulsa 1000/1 1000/1 90771 Memphis 1000/1 1000/1 90772 East Carolina 1000/1 1000/1 90773 Tulane 1000/1 1000/1 90774 Kansas 1000/1 1000/1 90775 Rutgers 1000/1 1000/1 90776 Illinois 1000/1 1000/1 90777 Purdue 1000/1 1000/1 90778 Western Kentucky 1000/1 1000/1 90779 Louisiana Tech 1000/1 1000/1 90780 Army 1000/1 5000/1 90781 Wyoming 1000/1 5000/1 90782 Air Force 1000/1 5000/1 90783 New Mexico 1000/1 5000/1 90784 Colorado St 1000/1 2000/1 90785 Utah State 1000/1 5000/1 90786 San Diego St 1000/1 1000/1 90787 Nevada 1000/1 5000/1 90788 UNLV 1000/1 5000/1 90789 Missouri 1000/1 1000/1 90790 FIELD (all others) 1000/1 1000/1 3 CFB Best Bet Longshots to Win the Title! When it comes to off-season betting, most pro bettors prefer making bets that you can wager either side on. For example, these would be your season win totals and game of year plays as opposed to futures. Focusing on the plays you can bet either side on allows you to hedge on late summer news like injuries and suspensions. Therefore, you can possibly get out of a perceived bad bet. With that being said, there are a few gems out there when it comes to futures odds. Keep in mind, you don t necessarily need any of these teams to win the National Title to make significant profits off these tickets. In most cases, you just need these teams to make their respective conference title games and you can start the hedging process by betting the money line on their opponents. 1. Wisconsin (80/1, now 40/1) The Badgers somehow managed 11 wins a year ago despite a brutal schedule. This year s team is primed to win double-digits yet again as they return 15 starters. Most importantly, the schedule is far weaker this season as they don t have an LSU or Alabama in non-conference action like they ve had the last 2 years. The Badgers also avoid Top 10 Ohio St and Penn St from the Big Ten East division and host Michigan. Currently, we have them favored in all 12 of their games! 2. Stanford (80/1) When 10-3 seasons start becoming a disappointment, you know you re becoming one of the elites in CFB. That was the case last year for the Cardinal who have notched at least 10 wins in 6 of the last 7 seasons. The Cardinal return 16 starters this year and could be favored in as many as 11 games (will be a dog at USC in Week 2). They get the big game vs Washington at home on November 10 and that could decide the Pac-12 North Division Title. 3. Miami, Fl (80/1) Mark Richt did a tremendous job in his first year getting the Hurricanes to 9-4, a Top 20 ranking and their first bowl win in 10 years. While they have to replace QB Brad Kaaya, the Hurricanes return 15 starters and could have one of the best defensive fronts in all of College Football. Miami gets a key conference game vs Virginia Tech at home, which could decide the ACC Coastal division. Overall, they may be favored in as many as 11 games (underdogs at Florida St).

Alabama Crimson Tide 2017 Power Rating: 98.24 (#1) Returning Starters: 11 (6 offense, 5 defense) Coach: Nick Saban - At Alabama: 119-19, 10 years; overall: 210-61-1, 21 years Players to Watch: QB Jalen Hurts, RB Bo Scarbrough, WR Calvin Ridley, OT Jonah Williams, DT Da Ron Payne, LB Rashaan Evans, S Minkah Fitzpatrick and S Ronnie Harrison Key Losses: WR ArDarius Stewart, TE O.J. Howard, OT Cam Robinson, DT Jonathan Allen, LB Reuben Foster, LB Ryan Anderson and CB Marlon Humphrey 2016 Season Recap: Alabama came into the 2016 season as the defending champs and started the season No. 1. They left no doubt after crushing USC in the opener. Two weeks later, they again struggled with Ole Miss having to rally from a 24-7 deficit. They would follow that up with road wins at Arkansas and Tennessee. Alabama would win and cover over Texas A&M at home and then after a bye would win and cover at LSU in a defensive slug-fest. The Tide kept their cover streak going with a blowout win over Mississippi St. The Crimson Tide would beat Auburn in the Iron Bowl and for the second consecutive season easily handled Florida in the SEC Championship game. In the playoff, they got by Washington in the semi-final but would relieve O.C. Lane Kiffin of his duties. After controlling the game vs Clemson early, the Crimson Tide defense wore down in the fourth quarter and would lose the National Championship on a TD pass with :01 left. They still easily topped their season win total of 10 (South Point). 2017 Outlook: As usual the Crimson Tide lost a lot of talent to the NFL. They do welcome back 6 starters on offense led by QB Jalen Hurts who threw for 2,780 yards (62.8%, 23-9 ratio) while also adding 954 rushing yards and 13 TD s. Hurts was the first true freshman to win SEC offensive player of the year since Herschel Walker. The RB s are loaded as the Tide bring back Bo Scarbrough (812 yards, 11 TD s) and Damien Harris (1,037 rushing yards). Despite losing WR ArDarius Stewart (864 receiving yards) and TE O.J. Howard (first round NFL draft pick), the Tide have plenty of weapons at WR led by Calvin Ridley (769 yards). The OL also welcomes back two All-SEC performers in Bradley Bozeman and Jonah Williams. The defensive losses are massive as the Crimson Tide lost leading tackler Reuben Foster (115 tackles), their best DL in Jonathan Allen (10.5 sacks) and best pass rusher Ryan Anderson (19 TFL s). The unit will be led by LB Rashaan Evans and DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (6 interceptions) but it will be tough top 2016 s edition that incredibly scored 11 touchdowns. The Crimson Tide have one of the best punters in the country in J.K. Scott (averaged 47.2 yards per punt) but the starting kicker spot is up for grabs. Outside of the opener vs Florida State and a road game at Auburn in the regular season finale, the Crimson Tide s schedule is very manageable. Alabama follows up the big game vs the Seminoles with Fresno State and Colorado State. The SEC schedule opens up with a road trip to Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide have struggled with Ole Miss the last three years, but will be a huge favorite this year. Alabama does have to go to Kyle Field. Alabama then gets Arkansas and Tennessee both at home. After a bye week, they also get the big game vs LSU at home. Two weeks after a road trip to Mississippi St, the Tide might have their toughest test of the season on the road at Auburn. Overall, Alabama will again be favored in every game and 10 of those favorite roles will be by double-digits. While most books would never deal a season win total of 11, I m not afraid to do so as Alabama has lost more than one regular season only once since 2007 and that came 7 years ago. Ohio State Buckeyes 2017 Power Rating: 95.47 (#2) Returning Starters: 15 (8 offense, 7 defense) Coach: Urban Meyer - At Ohio St: 61-6, 5 years; overall: 165-29, 15 years Players to Watch: QB J.T. Barrett, RB Mike Weber, C Billy Price, LT Jamarco Jones, DE Tyquan Lewis, DE Sam Hubbard, LB Jerome Baker, LB Chris Worley and CB Denzel Ward Key Losses: HB Curtis Samuel, WR Noah Brown, C Pat Elflein, LB Raekwon McMillan, CB Gareon Conley, S Marshon Lattimore, S Malik Hooker and P Cameron Johnston 2016 Season Recap: The Buckeyes were the least experienced team in the country last year as they returned only six starters. There was an expected drop off as their season win total was only 9.5 (South Point) and was lower at other sports books. The Buckeyes easily exceeded expectations in their first four games as they out-scored their opponents by a combined 228-37 highlighted by a 3-TD win at Oklahoma. Ohio State remarkably covered their first four games by an average of 24 ppg, but then saw point spread inflation the rest of the season. The Buckeyes needed overtime to avoid an upset at Wisconsin, then would blow a late lead vs Penn State (were 19-point favorites). It was the Buckeyes biggest upset loss since 1998. After another non-cover vs Northwestern, the Buckeyes got back on track in a big way beating Nebraska and Maryland by a combined 124-6. Ohio State nearly suffered another outright upset as a large favorite as they only beat Michigan State by 1 (were 3-TD favorites). In the regular season finale, they rallied to beat Michigan in double overtime (were laying 4). However, the season finished with a thud as they were crushed by Clemson 31-0 in the CFB playoff. 2017 Outlook: The Buckeyes return eight starters on offense led by QB J.T. Barrett who threw for 2,555 yards and had a 24-to-7 TD-to-INT ratio. Barrett also added 845 yards on the ground and could put up better passing numbers this year under new offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson. Mike Weber is back at RB after rushing for 1,096 yards in 2016. The receiving unit did take a hit as they lost their top three including Curtis Samuel (1,655 all-purpose yards). The Buckeyes also lost their leader on the offensive line in All-American center Pat Elflein but return four starters led by 1st-Team All-Big Ten Billy Price. On defense, the Buckeyes suffer some big losses as they lose leading tackler Raekwon McMillan (102 tackles) and also three starters in the secondary that were all taken in the first round of the NFL Draft led by Malik Hooker (74 tackles and 7 INT s). The defensive line could be the best in the country especially at the DE position led by Tyquan Lewis (Big Ten DL of Year) and Sam Hubbard (8 TFL s). The special teams unit loses both kicker Tyler Durbin (17 of 22 FG s in 2016) and punter Cameron Johnston who averaged 46.7 yards per punt (No. 5 in the country). The Buckeyes have not been an underdog since the end of the 2014 season and it looks like they will be favored in all of their games in 2017. The season starts off with a road trip to Indiana where Ohio State has failed to cover their last six meetings vs the Hoosiers. Week two features the Buckeyes hosting the Sooners and after last year s demolition in Norman, Ohio State figures to be at least a TD favorite. The Buckeyes do play at Nebraska, but figure to be a double-digit favorite after annihilating the Cornhuskers last year. Ohio State gets the all-important bye week prior to a revenge game vs Penn State at home. The season wraps up with a road trip to Michigan and with Ohio State winning 12 of the last 13 meetings, look for the Buckeyes to be a short favorite. Ohio State has only lost three regular season games in five years under Urban Meyer and d set their season win total at 11 with 10.5 being the absolute minimum. 2016 Season Results Alabama (SU: 14-1, ATS: 9-4-2, O/U: 7-8) W/L Line Score Total 9/3 USC W -12.5 52-6 o52 9/10 W Kentucky P -28 38-10 u60.5 9/17 at Mississippi L -10.5 48-43 o54.5 9/24 Kent St W -43 48-0 u49.5 10/1 Kentucky L -36 34-6 u57 10/8 at Arkansas W -14.5 49-30 o48.5 10/15 at Tennessee W -13.5 49-10 o55.5 10/22 Texas A&M W -18 33-14 u59 11/5 at LSU W -7.5 10-0 u46 11/12 Mississippi St W -29.5 51-3 o53.5 11/19 UT-Chatt.
