Work Experience/Professional Training/ Internships- U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Cape May, NJ --- Biological Science Intern June 5, 2017- August 31, 2017 I applied for an unpaid internship in Cape May, NJ to serve as a biological science intern where I was able to contribute to the conservation of our environmental and natural resources. I also was able to develop my knowledge and skills on various topics including migratory shorebirds, invasive/native plant species, waterfowl, pesticides, government procedures, data recording, data entering, bat sensory equipment, nekton, safety, and various habitats. This time I spent was unpaid, but gave a sense of positive change in my community and country. New Jersey FFA Association, Trenton, NJ State Sentinel May 2016- May 2017 I was elected to serve as the State Sentinel for this association in order to promote premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. During this experience I received training in leadership, public speaking, teamwork, time management, and organization. I facilitated leadership workshops, gave speeches, and helped run state events. I talked with legislators in Washington D.C and studied the agriculture in South Africa for 2 weeks. June 2013 Present I started out working at this local company as a dock hand cleaning boats and learning the ropes. My duties include packaging bait, customer assistance, loading boats, docking boats, mowing the lawn. This year I am the head boat operator towing boats in and out of the Oranoken Creek While working at Beaver Dam I must have knowledge about the local wildlife in order to educate customers. Northeast Precast, Millville, NJ Welder June 2015 - September 2015 Over the summer, I worked as a fabricator welding up concrete forms made from steel, and operating machinery including forklifts, plasma cutters, brake press, shears, rolls, punches, oxy-fuel torches, stick welders, and MIG welders. This was a valuable opportunity that taught me about safety and hard work. Farmhand/ Landscaper, NJ Worker June 2012 - September 2017 Over the summers, I worked various jobs but always found a way to get even more work. When I was 12 I began working on a local vineyard picking weeds and trimming grape vines. Following this, I got a job helping as a landscaper for a guy who fixed large boats. I either did landscaping or painted boat bottoms. I also found a job one summer helping mow lawns and care for horses.
