We would sincerely appreciate if parents could inform us of any pertinent information concerning your child, other than his/her medical conditions. Such information may be invaluable and would assist us to help your child appreciate the camp. Having prior knowledge about an inherent difficulty, recent loss or major change in the family makes a tremendous difference in helping us to be sensitive to your child s need for patience, understanding and reassurance. Because teens and youths often use their behavior rather than their words to communicate something that is bothering them, having advance knowledge of areas that might be difficult for your child helps us understand the message in his or her actions. Our commitment is to use such information with the greatest of discretion. If there is anything we should know about your child, please do not hesitate to let us know personally. Every participant has the right to feel safe in our camp environment. Participants also want to have fun and enjoy themselves during the camp. Thus, we aspire to build an environment that promotes learning in an innovative and fun way. Our hope is to help develop responsible and caring youths within an educationally conducive environment. To this end, we thus expect each participant to behave responsibly with Islamic adab and contribute towards such an environment for the benefit of all participants. Of course, part of the objectives of the camp is to instill upon the teens and youths the finer points of living their life as a young Muslim. Nonetheless, challenges sometimes present itself in problems of conduct and discipline. We would respond appropriately to any situation that creates discomfort or compromise the safety of our participants.
