We have engaged with 37 UK universities in our first full year of activity 24% of all of the research universities (that reported results to the REF the Research Excellent Framework in 2014, across all disciplines) 40% of all those that receive funding from the Digital Economy Theme of the EPSRC (the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council). This funding theme is very closely matched to our challenge areas. 85% of the top 20 ranked universities for computer science and informatics.

Porous Boundaries We have 500K funding from EPSRC over 3 years to bring 20 Researchers in Residence to the Digital Catapult Jointly administered with universities of Cambridge and Nottingham First researchers being selected Sept/Oct 2015 Researchers will be able to show real-world impact or work on commercialisation of their projects or work with us on our projects We have deep relationships with all the Centres for Doctoral Training within our challenge areas - developing the pools of deep skills in big data, web science and so on Specific sponsorship with 10 students per cohort Also working with the Digital Economy Network to support projects, events, training, entrepreneurship Our open innovation activities with our commercial supporters are all open to students and academics, with ongoing involvement crossing academic/startup/corporate boundaries
