Equipment The Raspberry Pi is the most cost effective option. Retailing at $89 Per Starter Kit. Built specifically to expose students to the internal and external workings of a computer.
Facilitators Open to people with basic IT knowledge. Partnership with relevant organisations to provide Facilitator training. Each facilitator can teach 45-minute (Primary), 90- minute (Secondary) classes 4 times a week. And 2 hours at tertiary level.
Maintenance and Project Management Equipment Maintenance Repairs and Replacements. Facilitator Management Attendance, Quality Control. Periodic Reporting.
School Selection - Pilot Stage Geographical spread around 6 Education Districts in Lagos. Target schools in Low-income areas & Girls Schools. Schools with existing infrastructure will benefit from free facilitator training and lesson content.
Governance Partnership between Public & Private Sector. Board accountable for oversight. Management accountable for the results.
Monitoring & Evaluation Independent organisation to monitor and assess program. This evaluator will be selected in conjunction with the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget. QA division of the Ministry of Education will also monitor program quality and efficacy. xxx
