Objective of the Awards To felicitate organizations who have: Shown operational excellence; Innovated for the betterment of the industry; and Increased efficiency and improved performance of healthcare delivery at large 2
Theme of the awards: Successful innovation Success Innovation Success is critical when awarding any entity. Parameters such as financial performance, accreditation, occupational safety, environmental conservation, infection rates, etc would need to be considered Innovation is what takes the industry to the next level, and these awards aim to reward such innovations. 3
Judging Process & Determination of Winners 120 nominations received across 3 categories The Screening Jury round was moderated by EY to identify top scoring applicants in Operational excellence and Projects for healthcare betterment categories. For People who moved the needle the Screening Jury shortlisted applicants and even recommended nominees for the award Jury provided scores for each nominee using the provided rating scale (next slide) Short listed nominees for Operational Excellence and Projects for healthcare betterment category made in person presentations to a panel of Final Jury members while the nominees for People who moved the needle were judged on the basis of their applications or background information provided. These sessions were moderated by EY and the scores given by each jury member were tabulated to determine the winners 4

Lack of specialist (General Medicine, General Surgeon, Pediatrician, ENT, Radiologist, Orthopedician, Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Pathologist and Anesthesiologist) Providing Sustainable Quality Healthcare in Remote Island of Lakshadweep Provide necessary infrastructure and facilities to the medical, paramedical and support staff Provide adequate remuneration, proper accommodation in the island and travel. Steps taken to resolve the issues : Deputed 16 doctors, 55 nurses and paramedical staff to commission the Rajiv Gandhi Specialty Hospital, Agatti, Lakshadweep Established facilities for Mother and Child Care. Commissioned the operation theater and labour room for safe conduct of deliveries including LSCS. Deputed all the specialists to provide specialty care. Extending domain expertise in healthcare delivery with continuous liaising with government & non government agencies in procuring medicines and supplies, timely supply of equipments, timely completion of hospital infrastructure. The institute focuses on clinical work, Research and Training as its core areas with main motto as Dedication is the Ultimate Goal Issues Addressed Uneven distribution of resources and skills for diagnosis and treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity Lack of screening standards, epidemiological data and guidelines An economic model that is inclusive and sustainable Steps Taken to resolve the issues: An advanced mobile imaging unit combined with tele diagnosis system that can screen infants in the NICU itself Research and publication of comparative data in British Journal of Ophthalmology, presentations at World ROP congresses An affordable screening and treatment cost is charged to parents who are able to pay. Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. Ranjit Roy Chaudhury Professor Ranjit Roy Chaudhury has served as Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Dean and Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh In 1978, he started the first DM course in Clinical Pharmacology in India He developed the "Delhi Model" of Rational Use of Medicines and participated in the Task Force preparing the "Antibiotic Policy" of the Government of India He was the Founder President, Delhi Medical Council, Member, Board of Governors of the Medical Council of India, and President, Delhi Society for the Promotion of Rational Use of Medicines He also holds positions with the Expert Committee of the Indian Council of Medical Research, the Regional Advisory Committee on Research of the WHO and the Task Force for Research of the Apollo Hospitals and Educational Foundation Prof. Roy Chaudhury has worked as Emeritus Scientist at the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi and holds the UNESCO Chair in Rational Use of Medicines at the Chulalongkorn University which conferred on him the honorary degree of Doctor of Science. Awards and Recognitions Prof. Roy Chaudhury's major contributions in research are in the field of reproduction pharmacology, clinical trials, rational use of medicines and research on medicinal plants.
