CSAG Uniform Changes Most recent instruchon on ABU wear was published 24 Oct but there will be more guidance in a couple of weeks ABUs mandatory June 2020 Texas wing has lots of ABUs from Lackland [AFB] in good sizes. Come and haul away Uniform commicee considering three changes 1. cloth patches on flight suit and a tan Tshirt, 2. tan Tshirt with BDUs and 3. wear of the AF windbreaker.
CSAG Cadet Program The CAP cadet program officially began 1 Oct 1942 so next year, 2017, will be spent celebrahng 75 years of cadets. All cadet and composite squadrons are encouraged to start planning now AcHve Cadet Fitness Program was discussed. Goal is to have them parhcipahng achvely, not focusing on teshng. Over 200 squadrons have tried new program. NaHonwide roll out will be Apr or June.
CSAG Misc 2018 NaHonal Conference will be 21-25 Aug in Anaheim CA. Marrioc three blocks from Disneyland, $139 per night. Some members have complained that some Vanguard items are of substandard quality. If you have a problem, don't gripe but contact Rita at Vanguard and explain problem
Operations 1. The Winter SAR Training mission is now active (17 T 3639). Each squadron with mission pilots is allocated flight time you can use against this mission between now and 28 Feb 2017, as follows: Medford 5.7 Bend 5.7 Washington County 4.0 Salem 7.5 Metro 5.7 Aurora 4.0 2. O-rides are funded: 17 A 3043. Go fly the cadets! There s no restriction here. 3. Maintenance charge rates for B and C missions will increase on 1 Jan 2017 to $56/hour for the C182 and $49/hour for the C172. As in the past you will be billed by Wing after each month.
Operations 4. Aircraft maintenance and reporting: We have a draft revision to the ORWG Supplement to CAPR 66-1 being reviewed by PLRO and NHQ. Pending formal acceptance, we would like each unit with aircraft based with them (Metro is responsible for any ORWG aircraft at VUO) to be responsible for two tasks on the first of each month. Normally this should be done by the unit Aircraft Maintenance Officer: a) for any ORWG aircraft parked on your ramp on the first of the month, collect the log pages for the previous month from the aircraft book, reconcile any discrepancies in reported Hobbes and tach time, scan the pages in a single file, and email to the LMG, Quinn Stutheit (quinns384@msn.com ) and the DO (rireson@comcast.net) b) for the same aircraft, perform a complete F73 aircraft inspection, scan the form and email to the LMG (quinns384@msn.com). If there are any significant discrepancies with the aircraft, call those to the attention of Lt. Stutheit. 5. N4934N will be sold. Aircraft moved to KVUO for preparation. Leaves Aurora Squadron without an aircraft for the time being. a) Wing Operations trying to determine new aircraft for Giant Voice system 6. MP/MO: there are still opportunities for crew to fly escort sorties for the MQ-9 Predator training mission in Syracuse NY. If you are interested in this, please contact Maj Randy Ireson.
